Another tranny slop fix

I just read Jamann's thread about how he took the slop out of his transmission (good job, by the way) and wanted to share how I did mine. Sorry for the poor quality of the photos, I only had a crappy phone camera at the time. The pic descriptions should explain what I did.

I just did the RC crawler tranny mod last night - So far so good... Plenty of strength left in the "teeth". And *so* much less slop it's amazing. Went from being able to spin the pinion almost 2 full turns with no motion, to only about 1/3 of a turn.
Used to be able to roll the truck a few inches - now maybe half an inch.

I'll be sure to post up whether or not the gears last after a few good crawling sessions... I figure if they break, they are cheap! If it does happen, I'll try Psyclone's technique. That looks to remove almost as much of the slop, without reducing any strength.
