+5 for creativeness - 5 for effectiveness, I don't quite understand the point of this, you are running 23/90 which is a bashing gearing, it should keep your temps below Fail safe 180*, second: heat sink on motor will reduce your temps by 15* which is about what you got, fan on ESC will reduce 5-10* temp on average, good fan for motor will reduce temps even more. The guys at my local hobby shop have done this many times to beat the heat, but for 31/76 gearing there is nothing that will help you to reduce it below 170*
First at all: Thanks for the review
Now, I am testing new gearings, I made a modification to the pump connecting the wires to the connector of the ESC. (Add more voltage and it can push more water), using tubes with more diameter and less curves, with the modification I made to the ESC the temperature goes down, i am adding fans to the esc and the radiator, and all the info I said before was before all the modifications made.

Today I made a piece of metal to cover the water cooling jacket.

This is so sweet! I seen that water jacket on a boat in an ad in RCCA today. Keep it coming...
LETS GO PENS!!!!
I was searching for aluminium gearbox and i found:

I want hear about some reviews about those gearboxes
I have few questions about the gearboxes:
I need a modification in the chassis to fit the gearbox?
I am not going to buy a gearbox, is just for help a friend.

you will def get more cooling with the full alum gearboxes. I have the Hot racing graphite/alum setup, and while it does aid in cooling, it will not do as well as the flm or golden horizons you linked to.
LETS GO PENS!!!!
I think only the rustler needs a slight chassis mod to fit the flm. The other 2 will fit all the 2wd traxxas trucks with no mods.
LETS GO PENS!!!!
Today I did this modification. Thanks M n M. It works, but just wins few millimetres
That's it for today.

I may try this to my future slash
I forget say if you want this modification for other cars or trucks (only traxxas trucks) let me know![]()

DBG this project is darn impressive you have taken on and continued with, nice work man!
Here is another avenue to consider perhaps on coolant, check out Red Line products and look for 'Water Wetter' it may interest youThat water jacket is clean looking on the motor, coooooool!
I changed the tubes. Now, the new tubes have bigger diameter than the old ones.
I forget made the unit conversion.(sorry)
Ambient Temperature: 24°-25°C
Gearing: 86-23(I changed the gearings to 90-23 to 86-23)
Motor:30°-37°C (Never touched the 40°C)
ESC: 30°-36°C
Next time i am going to buy a bigger pinion and a smaller spur gear.

As far as the coolent you are using.... In my full size turbo powered off road buggy I use a product called "Engine Ice" and it greatly reduced the coolent/engine temps. I don't know if that product is available where you are but it is also non corossive and biodegradable. Just a thought!!!!

That's TOO COOL!! pun intended.
If I did this to my Slash I could go 200miles through the desert at 60mph with ultra cool motor. (With {Plutonium 239} batteries of course)

Simply awesomeWhat are you using to power the waterpump?
What's a coffee if it aint Irish
^^^ I think its fine to post a link in this case as you need to reference a particular part to a particular person(reference purposes). Your not trying to turn the whole world on to the lowest price for it, but to show a member what else he could use for this application.

On that note. Here is a bunch of good waterjackets.

Today I bought some fans and I installed to my radiator.
I removed the radiator for a better view..
Right now, I am connecting all the wires from the fans to the ESC fan plug.

I forgot say an update yesterday:
Yesterday i received a new gearbox, because my old gearbox have signs of fractures
Now with the picsSorry for the bad quality of the pics, it was taken with my cell phone.)
Is a hot racing gearbox.
Now my motor is hypercooled![]()

I just bought the same tranny and changed it out yesterday. Have not completed replacing other things so have not had a chance to test it out.
Good luck with yours....

that's really cool. i wouldn't have thought of that myself.
"That don't make NO sense!"
That looks great. That is a great idea. Maybe add a fan to the radiator? Pull more air? Do you have any problem with dirt on the track?
Ok, today I connected the radiator fans wires to a J connector and the same for the waterpump:
Pics:
Waterpump:
Maybe I am going to get a Y connector for connect the radiators fans and the waterpump.

I am planning on doing the same thing to my 1/16 scale e-revo when i upgrade to Mamba Max Pro. Instead of adding a radiator, i will be mounting this to the body posts:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/LOT-of-3-CRA...#ht_2071wt_742
And i will fill that with ice. I will put the intake area of the pump through the bottom, and the warm water will come through the top , becoming cooled by the ice. i feel it will be more stable and less finnickey than the radiator method.
any thoughts???
I have the stock reciver on the vxl 16 merv, and i dont know much about the electrics of this project. What do i buy to attach the pump to the reciver, will it supply enough volts on my 2s lipos (7.4 v.), and would it just be easier to attach the pump to a 9v battery? would it work???
Is the fans blowing air out or sucking it in? Cool beans!
