You will find that a bench press, a drill press, and a large assortment of drill bits will be invaluable.

Man, I wouldn't put most of these into the "necessity" categories.

A good set of hex wrenches are something everyone should have no matter where they work on their stuff. Good lighting is a good idea. Some sort of mat or towel to stop bolts and stuff from rolling around.

I like to have some pegboard with an assortment of hangers to keep my tools and parts organized. A couple larger bins for bigger parts and stuff is a good plan too.

I think a dremel is a must have item. I use mine nearly every time I work on my trucks. Ive got a whole charging setup on my bench including a laptop and monitor. Its handy as I keep all the electronic manuals for my stuff stored on it for quick reference, but its not necessary. Keeping your manuals in a file folder near or under your bench will give you quick access when you need them.

In terms of necessities, by definition they would only be what you NEED to work on your trucks. All the extra stuff you WANT but don't NEED doesnt count. But as many have alluded to... the extras sure make working on your stuff easier and more enjoyable.

Found the best one at Lowes. Black, and mounts very strongly to the table. Compressor, and These tools as recently seen... Also, a charging station is nice, air compressor, and oh ya.. A dremel is a MUSSSTT. I got one at harbor freight for ten bucks! Since then I have an impressive collection of Dremel brand bits, that just two cost more than the little generic Harbor freight Dremel ive used so much, and been such a champ for me! Ive been waiting for it to go out, to get an actual 'dremel" but man has it been strong. Especially for ten bucks on sale.

Also, if U can ... Soldering Iron, and mount.... Voltage meter, proper hobby tools, and these thangs. Than it all can be mounted on Peg Boards.

    Oh and a Digital Caliper!

Helping Hands are cool Got these for coupel bucks... Likely I wont use em that much.

Oh, Also... This tool. Shock shaft tool.. One of those things that when u have, u wonder how u ever lived without it. The vice is the same. The Dremel... ONe of those things I wouldnt have imagined in the first place. I couldnt dream of counting how many times Ive used it in my hobby..

OH! and a must have.... Hobby(xacto) Knife. In the middle above my wrenches is a Racers Edge one, that works really well, and is almost dangerous how sharp the blade is. Love it!

    Little set of Pliars...

And when ya pass by one, Pick up a good cutting mat.

Speaking of Mats, they have nice RC pit mats sold by several companies.. I like em, but they are not a "must" But nice to have. I have a Proline one shown in the pics.

My fav tool is my Dremel 4000 and all it's accessories. It's helped me create some awesome derby cars and assist with other projects. My next fav tool is my lock to keep the wife and kids out!

You need metric tools hex driver and nut driver. Don't get cheap tools. A drill, dremal and soldering gun station. Refrigerator, coffee maker, microwave, fan, TV and/or cable game consule whatever. Computer and printer is a must. Alot of lighting but go with a bright LED setup b/c they give off zero heat. You'll need a good power supply for your charger. VICE GRIPS and electrical tape. The most important is a Pad Lock on the Door so no one can get in.

Thanks for compiling a list but I seriously don't need food related products in a work shop. Thanks for the other stuff I have all the stuff except hex and nut drivers and vice grips. And a question for dad2xmj do you think a workshop can be setup in a bedroom??
