Anyone use the hi traction /low traction drive effect settings??

Post up some of your RX settings what you guys are running for hi speed ..
do anyone of you guys use the preset LOW traction or the Hi Traction settings . I mess with it but I like to set my own . will post mine soon as I have my remote in hand
I know everyones will be different and think I already covered this but the threads seem to die out here since there only like 5 of us now with a XO-1 lol

Ill have some info posted up later this week. I think i finally found a place with enough room to safely hit 90-100.

I fried my stock esc so I put in a new one. Wow, what a difference. It must have the punch control turned wide open or something because it is COMPLETELY different. The car was even trying to lift the front tires a little, even with weight in the nose. Totally different car.

I purchased my xo1 slightly used and was told it was never reprogrammed. After updating the castle link and hooking it up to my laptop I see that the punch control was set at 0% and torque limiting at 5. Did you guys have similar values from the factory?

I've never hooked up the castle link to fiddle with yet. However I started my steering out at 10% full swing and 30% sensitivity which was too big of a deadspot in the middle. My last run was at 19%swing and 80%sensitive. Still a little vague for little adjustments at speed. I'm thinkin next run will be 16%swing and 95%sensitive or linear.

Ducati on here said he found most effective brake setting was around 68% so I went with that from the start. I found it to be really good so I left at 68%.

I started out with throttle at 50% expo and have it almost linear now (90%). 50% made it way vague & unresponsive under acceleration while making it super sensitive at around 75mph. In other words the trigger is pulled thu 97% of its travel at 75-80mph. To get up to 100mph you're left with a miniscule amount of trigger travel to control half of the power. Squeeze just a smidge too hard at 70mph and the car fights for traction from the huge power dump.

Yes. Thats the way they come from the factory. But after reading TheStenchOfSpeed's post, im wondering what Castle's replacements are set at...

I got a chance today to play with the punch control via the Field Link programmer. I changed the punch control from 0% to 80% and it drives like a completely different car. The power is instant (as I assumed it would be) and the lag issue is pretty much gone. Give it full throttle and the car will spin out immediately. At 0% punch control, the battery dictates the response in regards to the power supply available on the battery. For going 100mph this isn't bad because it will limit your wheel spin down low. For bashing around, I'd run at least a 50% punch setting for a quicker off the line acceleration. I can't wait to see how my 65c/130c 5000mah's do on this.

For now, I set the punch control back at 0% until I get a feel of the car at top speeds.

I have the castle card but have yet to play with it , im tryin see if u can set it up so it bites out the hole and not just spin out and go all squirlly lol I used gens ace 40C and I cant really tell a differnce to the traxxas 25C except that my traxxas batteries probably have about 50 cycles compared to 3-4 on my gens ace

I went out and messed around with the Drive Effects settings today. Is the Throttle Sensitivity (Throttle Expo) also what is being termed for "High Traction/Low Traction settings"? A higher throttle sensitivity seems to be better but it still feels like after 60-70mph the slightest movement of the throttle leads to the tires spinning. Due to this, I'm going to wait until my gyro is installed before I continue to run on 2 lane roads. They just aren't wide enough for when the back end spins out when you're going 60+mph.

After the gyro is installed and I can control the car better for when it fish tails then the next on the list is adjusting the punch control and torque limiting settings. I also found that setting the steering % below 50% helps out big time when doing high speed runs on narrow roads. You guys probably already know that though.

lol I gave up trying to glance at display anywhere upwards of 60. The few times i did i barely and i mean barely got it back in time. Then because of trying not to crash right after the glance away, I forgot what it said anyways. haha Sux about new classification of body.

honestly man it great to have the temp guage that has saved my life and motor n esc too lol but to me the rest is pretty distracting . i love being able to change the steering n throttle on the fly but any aftermarket radio Ive seen lets you do that at the push of a button . have 5 bodies now and 2 xo-1 as long as the bodies outnumber the cars ill be ok lol

So does the castle card do anything that the iPhone/tqi can't do?

Yes, I had mine set below 20% for a few runs. I had a few issues with the turnbuckle camber links and the vehicle will pull straight but will go off track at 0% throttle. The two huge flat spots that i got when I spun out also did not help things out.

How long of a road did you have to hit 96? Im still trying to find a wide open and safe area.

The castle link basically lets you program everything for the esc which you cannot access via traxxas link app/tqi. If I get a chance tomorrow ill post up some screen shots of the options. The traxxas funny car is the first set up to where the esc can be programmed via the tqi/ traxxas link app. The xo1 guys got shafted however which requires us to connect the card up and then possibly to a pc if finer calibration is necessary (torque limiting, power/brake curves, etc).

my buddy did some google map thing and it came out to about 600-650ft that it took to get there but theres only about 200-300 feet left before we hit the main road lol .. when it lost it at 96 the car flipped on its back and slid atleast over 100 feet another another 10 feet and it would of been dead middle of road thought it was gettin ran over . Need to get off the line quicker though but any more throttle and going sideways .. its raining now as soon as whether clears back out there . my white body turned brown at the front fenders and roof im guess from the heat of it sliding on concrete , had to put some bandaids on the front fenders and roof
