    Spc battery fit meant

I just got my 2 spc batteries for the merv.

The leads attach to the side of the battery and effectively widen the battery making it hard to fit in.

If I put the leads facing in I can close the doors but the leads bend back on themselves and I worry about strain on the wire connections.

If the leads face out then it is almost impossible to close the doors unless I cut off the last 1/2 inch of the door just back of the clip.

Does anyone else have issues with these batteries and what was your solution to making them fit?

To get a pack with larger wires to fit, just trim the slot where the wires exit to allow for them.

i've never had any problems with bending the wires to put in. works just fine. here's mine and hasnt seen damage to the balance wires.

i like the idea of keeping the balance wires inside the battery box as it helps to keep the battery in place from moving and keeps them safer than being out and get water or damage to them as those are harder to replace then replaceing a trx plug.

I put the wire side in first so they face the center of the truck. It works great keeps the balance plug in the battery compartment. I had to trim the opening where the wires exit a little bit.

I tried to take a picture but my camera was dead. I'm always charging some kind of batteries.

All of my batteries totally fill up the battery box, wouldn't work without cutting the tapered part of the door off.I also wrap a thin piece of plastic around the battery to help in pulling the battery out

i used a dremel to make it fit better. just a little bit off of the battery door right where the wires go through makes a big difference of no squeezing

I do the same as b@3. I bend the balance leads back inside so only the main leads come out. No need for dremmeling. Just a nice tight fit.

Installed the batteries, just did not latch the back battery compartment clip.

I just did a test run and wow what a different truck. Did twice as many speed runs with the spc batteries and esc/motor did not appear to get as hot. That being said it is really cold out and I was running without a shell.

No change in battery temp at all, where as the stock nimh would usually be too hot to touch!

More testing in the morning! Still have to figure out how to make the batteries fit and lock the door without too much stress on the leads!

I did try with the leads facing in and all seemed to fit maybe I will just run that way and not worry!

When I look at the wires after a run, they are in the same position as I put them in, so I wouldnt worry about it too much. If you need a hammer to get them in, then is the time to start to worry
Glad you like the packs. Nice thing of Lipo is that they stay cool, especially compared to NiMH packs.

Those seem like they are facing the wrong direction no? They should be sideways or what not.. I may be speakin out of may tail since mine have not yet arrived, but... Thats how I get the stock wires through. Sideways, not the way u got it above.

thats where the battery doors have the notch on the chassis to put the wires at. seems good to me and the way it should go.

I never needed nor intended to cut the doors.
My battery doors are one of the very few Integy parts that I could recommend.

The part that goes into the chassis and the door are connected with a pin. There are only two lips that go into the chassis. Had no issues with them.
