    First Timer Body Painting

When do I drill the holes for the mounts and motor hole? It'd make sense to do it while its clear but im Prolly wrong.

Does it have to be this "special" rc paint used? I got my base color in the special paint but dummy me didn't think about the lil spots for black accents like bumper and hood grills etc. I have some black rustoleum. Can this be used?

The thing about rc body paint is that it adheres really well to Lexan, is somewhat flexable, and is fuel proof. Not sure if rustoleum fit's those criteria.
You'll need a backing color for when you're done painting all the detail, usually black, silver, or white, to seal the paint job, and so your paint job doesn't come through opaque. I like to use silver because it gives the paint job a bit of a metallic look.

I like to mark my body post holes first with a black permanent marker on top the body then ream out the holes after I paint.

Wash inside with a little joy soap then rinse really well, let dry overnight. Then paint a couple coats and lastly with silver.

Do use lexan paint for all colors. Forget the rustoleum.

Im going to risk all my work so far and try some bulldog adhesion promoter, then hit with the black rustoleum. Wish me luck. Im too impatient to wait for the next time im in the area of my local shop which is an hour away.

Alright after thinking about it. I guess the paint is gonna have to wait a few weeks until I can get to the store for the proper paint. I have spent hours prepping this and I would hate to rush the easiest part, painting and end up messing it up.

Waiting for the right paint is a good plan. You're on easy street now, the prep takes 80% of the time and the painting is the easy part.
