thermal pad on temp sensor on electric motor

Ok, i know that there is a sticky side and a non sticky side to the thermal pad. I'm assuming that the sticky side goes against the wire and the plastic wire mount with the non-sticky against the motor, to keep the wire in the mount. I could also see it being used the other way around to help keep the sensor in place. So which way does the sticky go?

I'm wondering this myself. I just installed my temp sensor but not sure if I did it right. I did it with the sticky side on the motor. I wish Traxxas would give us some instructions.
