how fast will the mmp2400 get this truck to go? what gears?

So i've been running 17/54 gearing and the motor doesn't even sweat. Works good for off road, but of course I have to see how fast it will go. 3s 4000mah traxxas battery is what I'm running with. What is your experience?

Select Slash 4x4 for the gear ratio in box 1. Put a 1 in box 2. Then fill out Spur, pinion, battery voltage, kv of motor and tire diameter. This will get you close to the top speed you can achieve. Ballooning of tires will increase top speed (and heat) quite a bit, so keep that in mind.

18/54 with trenchers on 3s I've gotten mine to 52mph with gps confirmation. One day when I'm not feeling lazy I'm going to put in my 21/50 gearing and run 4s on it

Think its doin 50, seems just as fast as my Merv on 3s. Got to buy some bigger pinions cause I know I hit rpm limit not lack of power.

Drove it in my work parking lot that was almost dry having a blast at half throttle or more/ top speed runs trying to drift through a wet patch. 17/54 didn't even get warm. Stock it would have been quite toasty with tonights session. Wish they sold bare and you put in your own electronics

I haven't done it but it will go 80+mph on 4s geared 25-26/50

Mines geared 20/54 on 3s 5200mah 25c w/ 1/8 buggy wheels/tires and its doing about 50mph and it just get warm. Motor temps around 125F - 130F and the ESC doesn't really register any heat with the finger test, maybe 90F - 95F.

Does the mamba max pro have thermal shut down? Since it can handle 6s do I only have to worry about motor temp?

It does. I never managed to push it that hard with the 2400 that it got hot or even close to. Even with the 2650 that isnt an easy job. Awesome controller.

can anyone say what gears they use for 3s speed runs. I don't really want 20 bucks worth of gears laying around after i figure out what it will top out at. 17/54 is great and that will be standard, but i want a 1 set for showing off at work.

eBay sells rollers for $150. You add wheels, body and electronics. It's really the best way to buy.

I ran 18/54 with untaped trenchers on 3s and got it to 52mph before I ran out of street.

Well, if you are trying to run fast on the straight, you need much more then just gearing, to prevent blow over....

I strapped a gps to the back of my Stampede and checked my top speed. Running mostly on dirt my top speed so far is 38.6 mph. I'm a little disappointed. With better tires and different gearing it will go faster. I'm running the Castle Creations Mamba Max Pro SCT ESC and Neu-Castle 1415-2400kv motor combo, SPC 11.1 volt 5000mah 3s lipo battery, 17 tooth pinion, 54 tooth spur gear, and 4.9" Pro-Line Masher 2000 tires.

thanks for sharing, looked like to short of space and bumpy to reach full potential. These suckers are a blast on smooth gravel to go fast. I got a 21 pinion and a 52 spur to try out next. Got to put on street fighter tires to test it. I'm thinking I don't like them cause you can flip so easy turning.

You are correct. Today i found a straight street with no traffic and made a couple passes. I put the stock tires back on but left the gearing 17/54. The fastest speed with the body on was 48.2 mph. Without a body it hit 50.3 mph.

I converted to slash mt, here is my speed with taped trenchers, 21/50 on 3s. I will probably try it again with my untaped trenchers and see what happens

Also a couple pics of my setup, so you can see it is not lowered or setup for speed runs in any way.

Thanks for sharing, I think 4s is the natural progression for my pede. Don't think crazy fast should be a problem with that.
