I use Anacondas on 2.8 allstar wheels - great on road . The proline street fighter tires are also great on road and are availible for the stock Slash wheels . As for lowering the truck - most speed runners use an old trick of slpping a small piece of tubing on the shaft inside the shock to limit piston travel - usually 1/2 to 3/4 inch in length . The Rustler forum here has lots of on road tips and tricks that can easily transfer to the Slash .

I agree that either anachondas or street fighters would work well. I've heard that over time, fuel tubing can split or tear, so you could also use the plastic tuning spacers that come in the parts tree with the slash. That's what I've been using for a while and it works at the track.

the tuning spacers makes the susp to stiff, with the tubing meaby you reduce the lenght so the susp still soft.... is that right?

I like the street fighters for the stock slash hubs, and foams on 17mm hubs from suprasales on ebay. I've converted 3 of my slashes to 17mm hubs and use revo tires for a MT look, or buggy tires for speed.

I haven't done the tubing mod but I use the black spring spacers and it does lower the truck but makes the suspension a little stiffer.

It may make the suspension a bit stiffer but you could fix that by drilling small holes in the spacers, switch springs, or use lighter shock oil

On road, you may want a stiffer suspension anyhow. I have spacers installed on my slash, and the track I run on is rubber. Firm suspension works for me. Your mileage may very.

I use some generic 1/8 rubber slicks.

Tires aside, you really want to prevent wheel skipping. IMHO, it is where the most power is lost in speed runs. It is much more pronounced with harder tires and foamies(also leaky shocks or soft d/r springs.) Throttle control is important in preventing this. If you have ever done or heard a burn out in a real car you can hear what I am talking about.
