still new at this...
ok most of you guys know im still new at this, and if you have read my posts, i got my 3905 used. I LOVE THIS TRUCK. but i have some questions about how hard it is to change the blue boots on my axles and the boots that go around the i would like to call them pillow bolts? the upper portion of the 'hub.' i dont have my exploded view handy. but tomorrow at work i will look into it. and see what the correct terms are. but as it is late here i have to head to bed.
thank you guys for the information that i have already learned. and thank you for helping with another issue.
The boots on the pivot balls are not hard at all to change. Once the carrier is removed from the a-arms you just lightly pry off the round clip that holds it in place. I used a small tipped flathead screw driver to remove the clip.
The boot on the axle is a little more difficult. I say that because it can be time consuming if you want to clean off the old glue. I've heard lots of guys don't even bother glueing a new one on. They just slide a new one in place.
If your going to re-glue the axle boots I recommend that you glue one side using a tiny amount of CA glue, let it dry then glue the other side, again with just a tiny amount of CA glue. This is Expedia CS talking... Yes, I've used too much glue and bonded the two half together! Had to snap them apart, clean them up and try again.
thanks MnM, you have helped out a lot with my learning on my truck. and i should have a new roller plus coming in tomorrow. but its a 3908 minus motor, esc and batts. ill probably throw up a picture when i get it in.
Not a problem… Thats why were all here, to learn from each other.

something else i need to learn about is brushless. my 3908 came in today. rpm arms, upgraded driveshafts and axles. 2.4 HO controller. im going to be in need of tires. i have one that is really ripped apart. it didnt come with a motor, esc, batts, or a body. so im in need of more information on where to get a decent motor. along with a decent esc. but its going to be some time before i get more money to do taht.
