    Just a few questions...

Well I plan on getting rid of all of my nitro stuff and moving on to building 2 E-maxx's (hoping to find 3905's, but might settle on 3906's). One I am going to do either a 700HO setup or a dual 14.4v Dewalt 820 setup. I will be buying a new LVD equipped EVX-2 for that one to run some 5000mah 2s ******* 40C lipos. I would think 4s would be plenty of battery for my beater truck to run around in the snow, ice, mud, and water. My next E-maxx is going to be either a 3905 or 06 as well. This one though is going to be brushless... I have found this setup I'm highly thinking about... http://www.hobbypartz.com/07e-c-xerun-80a-sd.html ... http://www.hobbypartz.com/96m802-4074-2150kv.html . Any thoughts on that? I mean it seems like a fairly decent setup. Anyone know if that esc is already soldered up and ready to go? Anyone have any feedback on it? Thanks in advance for answers!

80 amp no, 120 min 150 better, motors fine, 3906 has old tranny, good luck running brushless on it without upgrades. 3905 tranny. If you plan to drive like a granny what you have picked out is fine

Your probably better off with this ESC for 4s http://www.rcecho.com/HOBBYWING-EZRU...ler-SL564.html It's also waterproof .

For 6s (which I would'nt recommend) this would be a great choice http://www.rcecho.com/HOBBYWING-EZRU...ler-SL563.html It's water resistant.

With a 4s you'll have more power with a higher kv motor, 2500kv or higher.
With a 6s system the motor kv you linked to should be fine.

Brushless is much better than any brushed system and that's what I'd recommend for both trucks. BL has much more power, less weight, more effecient = longer run times, almost no maintance, and don't suffer degrading power from brushes that wear.

The 3906 can be upgraded to handle the BL power with a few mods. My 3906 has been running a year and it's tough and can hang with the newer Brushless Maxx's.

Well, IF I can't find a decently priced 3905, I'll settle on an 3906. I've had like 5 different E-maxx's all with different motor setups, but never brushless. I was actually one of the first to do the dewalt upgrade. A guy on this forum actually modeled his off of my design for the motor plate and mentions me in his thread.

What motor might you suggest with that Hobbywing esc for 4s that's waterproof. That's my main thing is staying waterproof, cheap, efficient, has decent speed and bashing ability. I'm not looking for insane speeds as I have a mini vxl revo, Jato, and Revo 2.5 for the speeds and racing with some littler jumps. Right now, I'm just trying to build a beastly E-maxx and show my brother what's up. I had built him a Dewalt E-maxx and now I am working on building him another. If I can get a waterproof brushless setup, I'll just say heck with the brushed one. lol

This combo is KILLER on 4s in any E Maxx. The power is Awesome and your brothers face will look like this after he sees it run. This combo has the waterproof ESC. Their not a lot of these combos left, seems the company's are gearing to Short Course which use a smaller, higher kv motor for 2s.

I have some video of it running in an E Maxx if you want to see it.

You could also get the SC8 ESC and buy the ******* ********* 2560kv motor. It's another KILLER combo and that motors a 6 pole, which is a GOOD thing .

Here's a video from YouTube of the SC8 / 2700kv combo that I linked to. It's not my video but it shows what a high kv and 4s can do. I do have this system but haven't tried it out yet.

Here's another video of the SC8 ESC with the ******* ********* 2560kv motor. This is my 3906 and I have the slipper set loose so it's driveable .

That top video is absolutely INSANEE!!!! The weird part is, I watched your video of your truck just last night! **** So, is that brushless hobbywing waterproof one you linked me to on ebay durable and ACTUALLY waterproof/water resistant? Would I be better off getting that separate hobbywing 4s esc you linked me to... http://www.rcecho.com/HOBBYWING-EZRU...ler-SL564.html ... and then buying the motor from somewhere? I'm basically trying to get the most power/durability out of the system (truck will be upgraded as time goes on) for cheapest. I am just unsure of this whole brushless world, and don't want to waste money. lol So, with that being said, what would be your recommendations from what you have ran/saw between those setups? Also, if you don't use that system that you haven't tried, I bet I know someone who may be able to use it....

The SC8 I have is water resistant and the newer one that I linked you to are both the Waterproof ESC's. They have the same specs just one is sealed better. It says that it's waterproof and that it works properly even under water.

As far as which system, it's really up to you. The nice thing about a combo is it's usually plug and play. You mentioned something about soldering and a separate combo usually needs to be soldered, my ******* setup did. My SC8/2700kv combo came presoldered and even came with a 19T pinion and program card.

I have a brand new 3908 roller that the SC8/2700kv combo was going in. I'll shoot you a PM and we'll talk .

So you have the Hobbywing waterproof SC8 ESC with a Tacon 2150kv motor? Would you mind posting some videos of it running? Also, what batteries do you use? Thanks for the reply.

Here is the setup im running.

    http://www.hobbypartz.com/07e-c-combo-m3a.html

Really nice setup. I have to say, I bought this thinking it was be decent and it way surpassed everything. Its 150amp ESC so there is plenty of room to expand. takes 4s -6s. Runs super cool. I did speed runs for 20mins on 5s and didnt break 130 degreese on the motor. ESC stayed around 95. Good amount of TQ. I got this for winter running so I didnt kill my MMM combo when its wet out. I took the ESC apart and "waterproofed" it the best I could with liquid tape. I think I did pretty good. Ran in 2-3 times in light snow/rain an didnt have any issues. I wouldnt try any scuba with it though.

I have been debating on that system as well. It seems like the can is bigger and could handle more in addition to staying cool. I wonder what these systems run used?
