Are Big Joe 40's Axle Driveshaft Killers?

Just ordered a set of Big Joe 40's, but have since heard they break axle driveshafts like there is no tomorrow. Not sure though if this is EMaxx Brushless specific. Is anyone out there running Big Joe 40's who can advise please? Thanks.

That's a joke big joes are fine they won't break your truck been running them for a year. Some people take a crazy jump or crash and when it breaks, ohh it was the big Joes lol, It's all how you drive

I've only had one stock axle turn into a pretzel. I'm not sure if the axle and/or the bearings seized up that caused it to fail. Since then, no problems to report.

Will they break your drive shafts? Well they will definitely increase your chances of it. If the driveshafts don't take the brunt, then the diff gears will. You are definitely placing more stress on the drive train; the wheels are much larger in diameter, have more contact patch with the ground and pack a fair bit more rotational mass so yes you are definitely putting more strain on the vehicle.

Will that break drive shafts? Depends on how you drive. I've broken my drive shafts and diffs on the standard wheels. I also have a set of Big Joes sitting around not yet used because I need to glue them first (bought them basically new from a forum member on another site and he didn't glue them, only used the beadlock from Axial rims). Do expect them to be harder on my Emaxx? Absolutely. Do I expect them to break stuff? Hopefully not, but I am also upgrading to 1/8 FLM hybrid diffs just to make sure. I also recently upgraded all drive shafts to Traxxas CVD's again, partially because I got sick of breaking them (I run 6S) and partially because I want to run the Big Joes and I have very little expectations of the stock drive shafts holding up.

Adjusting your slipper will help prolong the life of your shafts.
