I have no experience with the Rustler chassis, but I have an FLM chassis on my Pede and really like it. The only problem is, my Pede is so beautiful with the new chassis it has become a shelf queen. Installation was straightforward and the battery is held in place by a couple velcro straps.

that's made for the rustler, so it is a direct fit, you can use velcro to mount esc, and receiver box. I would prefer the stock chassis and upgrade other parts, like aluminum shock towers, transmission, carriers, caster blocks, bulkhead.

Hey G-Rustler,I think you need to also buy the upper chassis for that another $33 as it dosen't sound like you would want to put the stock on there if it would be the only plastic piece..If u do decide to go that route i would recomend the Ext-chassis version as it will improve performance.I like a little flexability i think these need a little give w/all the motor we give em. I went with STRC LCG kit and it's great. Later

I would think you could run any top plate. They should all have the same hole location's and mount the same. I run the FLM top plate as I got it for 20 buck's on the bay.

Over the years there have been more than a few posts about the stock upper chassis not fitting on the FLM chassis. I have never understood this but there has been numerous pictures posted showing that all four mounting holes do not line up properly when trying to use the stock upper chassis on the FLM chassis.

Although I don't run the FLM Rustler chassis, I agree with Dadx2mj that this has definitely been the assertion through the years.
I know they're having their break there by your brake drums. No, you're not invited.

I love my FLM chassis. running the castle 3800 sct, suprasale's tire's Big Block's, "they are not good on the road at all, no grip" gearing was set at 19/54 running 32p. I was able to hit 60.2mph. Pretty good for the tire's spinning the whole way. It is a super tough chassis, just a hair heavier than the stock chassis. You will be impressed with it.
