Anyone know about Novak HV Maxx? LiPo help required.
Not really sure if anyone can help with one, but I need help on choosing suitable LiPos for my HV Maxx. Although I run this system in my erevo, I thought better to post in here since the emaxx was what it was designed for. I've been running on Lipos, but need new as mine have finally died.
I'm fine on physical size, capacity, LVC etc, but I don't know what the smallest C rating is I can get away with? Obviously, the bigger the C rating, the more the batteries seem to cost!
For want of arguement, lets say the batts will be 5000mAh. Can I get away with 20C (100A) or do I need lots more. Being an older, lower powered system, I'm hoping I can get some cheap batteries to get up & running again.
when I first saw those systems run people were using nimh, then later 15-20c lipos because thats all there were. Does it have an lvc ? Also there was a 6.5 and a 4.5 turn motor that came with it IIRC, if the 4.5 that one got a bit hotter but im sure any 20c+ lipo would be fine, but you can get up to 40c for a few $$ more these days
Thanks for the reply. I can't even remember what my system is, it's been in there that long. I was running it on my old emaxx for a good long while before I got the erevo.
I've got an LVC in place, did that when I got the first set of LiPos.
I was hoping to find suitable batteries in the uk. All the stores are expensive, which pretty much leaves ebay uk sellers. My last set came from japan & it just seemed to cost a fortune to get them sent. (As well as weeks!)
If I'm safe to run the hv maxx on 20C I just get a lot more choice.
I have used this system for years with a 20C batt without any issues except some glitching when a better servo was added. However this has nothing to do with the battery. A extra capacitor has solved the issue. Anyway a 20C batt will do the job.
Great stuff, thank you. I've found some 20C that seem a good price, to get me going again.
