If you do find for "gear" in the parts list, you get zero results.

OMG that Spartan is so cool

    story is :

before i was starting the rc thing i have looked for this SPartan racer instead of a car
but choose for a Merv to see if i liked the hobby.
within the first 4 weeks i did knew great this is something for me and still like it but also still like a boat i find that so INSANE

also searching for another car as you with the merv , and did see last weekend a second hand Erbe with lots of mods
but i called the guy and found out he was full of BS with his bla bla and after talking i did say sorry not interested anymore

also been and have done much research about a Rustlers which are great to tune and go fast for speed runs
Draven for example is a master with his one and there is a guy here in Holland who is and also
doing a 127 mph and more now

for now i will get the ......... out of my merv
but i am gonna do a second one before the summer or after
and i think its gonna be a Erbe too or a Rustler which are both major easy too tune

in my heart i wanna do a X01 but then i got a problem in this home 1000 euro here in The netherlands

    updates:
start tearing it apart last night, started on the rear, took out the diff and filled it up the with thicker oil, geased up the gear, soak the bearings and a-arm pins with WD-40. i used air compressor to blast off all the dirt, then put it all back together next thing i know its 2:00 am. went to sleep for few hours then go to work.
got home from work, check the mail, and my lipos came in. went straight to the garage and start tearing up the front end, same procedure as i did to the rear. but when i separate the front bulk i saw a small piece of plastic that i dont know where its from?
here are some of the pics i just took,
    SPC lipo 2500mah 30c 2s

rear center axle in bad shape

that little piece of plastic that i got out from inside the diff (bulk) ?????

i swap out the steering post with real bearing, what a difference, it smooth as it turns left to right now,

tranny with aftermarket motor mount by GH racing.

    got everything put back together

i dicided to to go with the 380 size motor so i took the 1/10 motor/ESC out, and on the hunt for 1/16 ESC/MOTOR on EBAY!!!!!
    Wish me luck..

did you have to cut your battery doors to fit lipos in? i didnt have to, alot of people say you do to get the lead wires out, not sure why they cut open mine works perfect in there. 2:00am is too early to be working on a merv , mine is at latest 11pm then time to hit the hay and get some rest then do it again next day.

Not sure what that piece is though. did you check insidde diff housing? looks like half of a screw hole somewhere like steering arms

No, the wires are fine where it comes out.
after further invistigation, i found out what that piece is, its part of the body mount, its like a tab that goes in between the chassis/bulk.

From the view on the third pic on post #65 it looks like these modell already has the fan connected to the BEC +/- wires (~6V). The separate fan header (left to the main header) where the full battery voltage applies is not used here. I think the fan should be save on 3S, if the ESC is rated for that voltage.

the fan is rated for 2s but i can get the 12v fan to be able to use 3s later. for now i'm happy with 2s.

i seen some ppl here use one side of battery compartment to mount their ESC and reciever so, since i'm only gonna be running this with one lipo, i did the same set-up and give it a LCG this way.

i did'nt get it to test run it cause my front left toe link still not here. i did on the other hand, bench test it and its a very smooth motor. i dont like the fact that the fan stay on all the time though. i dont know if there is a way to wire it to were it only comes on when temp reach it temp point. got any idea how to?

Might be better to have it on all the time. Gives it a hard start on cooling although if you had a temp sensor it would be easy to hook up

everything is set to go and the only fall back is my toe link, and i hate waiting for parts, so after digging thru my rs4 MT box i found a link that almost the same length, i screw it in, and suprisingly it works. i step outside in the dark for a few run to see how well it goes...i am satisfied with the result. tomorrow i'll post a running video of it.

@50....as long as it gives me a good run time for atleast 10 mins without overheating, i'll live it alone.

i have a blast with it today. with only one lipo it lasted my for quite a long time than i expected, play it for 10 mins then let it cool, then paly for another 10 mins and still going strong. i have the LVC set at 3.2v and for the 3rd run it jsut wont quit and surprisingly the temp are 115 on motor and 92 on ESC and my lipo at 50 degrees.
with all the fun i have nothing really surprises me with tire coming of the bead.

here is my homemade toe link while still waiting for the real one, lol.
