    Is this a good deal??

I have never owned a nitro rc and i would like to buy one.

I found this on Trademe (A New Zealand Site) and thought it might be a good deal, But i would like somone elses advise on this truck. Becuause it doesnt have much info on it, and being a noob to nitro rc, would somone be able to tell me what are the specs of this truck, like is it a good motor and would it be good for a noob like me?

    Cheers -Josh

Looks to be a box stock original slayer. assuming NZ used the Aussie dollar it looks to be par right now. That's not a terrible price for it if everything is running, but i wouldn't go too much higher. Maybe $250 tops. That's just me though. Unless you can see it running, with nitro engines i always assumed they were trashed. So i would factor that into any offer until i saw it running.

Ok, He hasnt run it on over a year, so it is quite old, is it a good engine though and is it 4wd?

I just want a cheap nitro rc to start off with.

That's the older slayer not the newer slayer pro. Hard to say if it's a good deal without more info. but you can buy a new slayer pro for around 425.00 to 450.00 and I have seen older slayers that are brand new for about 350.00

here is the spec. on the slayer

Not running for a year will not hurt an engine so long as after run cleaning was done.
Hard to say with a used nitro. You don't know if it was broken right or if it was clean up after. It does look very clean so it may have been taken care of. having the manuals with it is a good sign. and yes it is a 4X4

One thing with the slayer is it doesn't corner like a Revo. Most everyone who got a slayer put the sway bar kit on.
