Foams are only useful for speed runs IMO. You can tape your tires or get a set of JConcepts G-Locs.

As I see it decent street tyres will cost more os less the same, two pair of jaco foams will cost around 60 dollar, anacondas 55 dollars, 1/8 buggy wheels (grp gandini, ipanema etc) 50-70 dollars, and additional 17mm hex adaper 30 dollars.

How ever, you can get some g locks, i dont know how much they cost, but probaly the same. I think they work well for street bashing and speedruns now and then.

I have used talons and foams. Talons blew off the rims on 3s, literally blew off... Foams are a huge difference! So much better, mine have barely worn and they have about 10-15 runs on them. Also as a side note if you do get them make sure your running space is free of rocks or wood chips because if you hit them you may have chunks come out of the tires

Ha. That's funny, my rustler goes faster than your Prius

Well, g-locks that are taped and glued shouldnt blow of. On the other hand, they arent high speed dedicated tyres either. I would say, 17mm adapter and grp gandini wheels is one of the best speedrun tyres. Anacondas also works well I have heard.

G-locs has a minimum of ballooning...trust me i've had em for 2 weeks now and im SATISFIED WITH THE G-LOCS
for your rustler purchase ProLine part numbers 1170-12 and 1170-13. thats the front and rear

The desperado's are proline wheels. Your thinking of the rulux wheels that come premounted on the G-locs.

I tape mine with heavy duty packing tape that has fiberglass strands running lengthwise through it for extra added strength. I've used gorilla tape in the past, but this stuff just seems much better.

However, it's been my experience that all taped tires will eventually come loose over time. At high speeds, the centrifugal force on them just seems to be too much. Shame that I blow out the taping before wearing out the tire treads.

I'm tired of taping and gluing tires all the time though. I wish some company would make pre glued tires and rims that have some kind of mega support built into them. How about belted factory produced tires just like on real cars?

I tried the G-Locs (preglued ones) on my Bandit for some speed runs yesterday. They dont balloon that bad on high speeds (got close to 80 yesterday).
I was lucky to get the G-Locs for $56 (ex shipping for 4 wheels and tires) from a dutch guy I know who started his own webshop here in the Netherlands.

Well, that would be expensive, what is your goal? Are you a speedrunner only, or a basher? I would recomend the g-locs, or the grp gandini with 17mm hex adaper. Will be alot cheaper than buying foams (that only suits speedruns), and then buy g-locs.
