    Question Sell or Keep?

    Hi,

I've got a 2wd 1/10 Slash that I really liked. Recently its had some problems though. My 3500 motor has a bearing blown in the front, which I can't get out. I also have about 25% of the screws stripped either in the head or threads.

I also have a 4x4 1/16 Slashe that I really liked. It is the brushed edition, but has a dead motor. Other than that, it works really well. The guy who sold it to me (used), included enough parts to convert an e-revo to a slash as well.

My question is this: I live out where I have lots of pavement without cars & a small dirt track perfect for the 1/16 in the backyard. I want to keep an RC, but I'm not sure which one, or if I should sell both and get a 1/10 4x4 Slash. I like scale realism, but also like the MERV, especially if I got the Ford Raptor body.

My friend has a 1/16 MERV and a 1/10 2wd. Regardless, I'm gonna go brushless with whatever I do. I don't run lipos, only the stock (or same as stock) NiMh. I'd like to earn money from this, not have to pay extra.

    Thanks!

I would get the Slash 4x4 if you like the Slash 2WD but wish it had more control/grip.

But if you're happy with what you have now stick with it, and fix/upgrade the broken stuff.

I would upgrade the motor, but to run the same ESC you would have to stick to a 2-Pole motor.
The Leopard motors from HobbyPartz are good, and cheap.

I'm actually leaning more towards the 1/16. I have 2 mini slashes, but one is my brother's. He wants to get $75, so I might sell the 2wd for over that, then use the extra $$ on upgrades on the 1/16s. I could keep one as a slash & swap the other for a merv, either by trade or buying parts.
    Any other opinions?

i have a 1/16 merv, i have had other 1/10 cars 2wd and 4wd, and i gotta say without question i love the merv better than anything i've ever had. what i would do if i was you was determine witch one i like the most (pro's vs con's) and get rid of the other to buy parts and/or upgrades for the other. would def go brushless. even the stock 1/16 erevo brushless system on 3s is CRAZY powerfull.

if you do decide to get rid of either of them send me a pm i would be interested in either of them

You're ina tough situation. I would upgrade the 1/16 slash to brushless and make it into a MERV. I would sell the 1/10 slash and buy upgrades for the MERV if still affordable.

Thanks for the advice guys. I'm looking more into the 1/16 Traxxas models. I like how you can have one chassis buy have different models at the same time. I will probably look into selling the 2wd and maybe one of the 1/16s. Keep feeding me advice -- I'd love to hear more opinions!

for sure keep at least one 1/16 model, to me they are the best, easy on the pocket book, fun to play with
