    First serious damage

I finally had a kinda serious crash with my Pede. I was annoying my buddy who put a 20/40 gearing in his Sl4sh, thinking he would be faster than me, knowing I still had the 16/40 in mine. He wasnt aware I threw my 4S brick in mine so his 25% more heavy gearing wasnt enough to stay ahead of my 33% more voltage.

When my Pede was passing the Slash (at around 65mph), it suddenly fell in love with the Slash and decided it wanted to kiss it. That caused a nice side by side cartwheel show. Mine landed on its front wheel which ended the life of a caster block, bearing carrier and a drive shaft.

An FLM set for the front set was on it's way already and now I finally have a good reason to upgrade to alu casters and carriers.

Nicest is that his Slash spitted out a Lipo which is trashed now where mine didnt even lose the datalogger and the GPS module.

You can read it in the first post. As far as I can remember I didn't steer towards his. Probably hit a little rock or something else which made it go his way and bumped into the side of his.

Nice damage! You going with the FLM just to try them out? They look like the heavy duty bones of the Teknos and all the hardware of MIPs. I assume the little c rings are to capture the pins. Nice idea. Do you know what the tiny grub screws are for? Strange that the HD upgrade axle comes with pin screws, but the full kit comes with little grubs.

I was not sure to get the MIPs for the front end too, so I decided to order the FLM set. I ordered the FLM set in the Netherlands because it took ages before I got the rear MIPs.

The HD Upgrade Axle is supposed to be used with the stock half shafts, so the grub screw is probably to hold the pin in the FLM shaft at the wheel end. Not sure. I will let you know when they come in.

I had the same exact damage for the same reason. Driving down the road it went to the right on its own and BANG into the curb. I damaged the same parts you did!

It's kinda funny that ordered the FLM shafts for the front end already and I have been thinking about getting the alu casters and carriers lately and now I break typically those parts. Same thing happened to my Merv. I ordered a CVD set for that one and yesterday I popped a drive shaft or the first time since ages. It's good to have 4 cars. That reduces the risk of downtime a lot

It surprises me that You ran with pede stock carriers, A-Arms all this time Time for upgrades.
Also, the tire looks so tiny, what is the outer diameter? .
What gearing do you have on your pede?

Well the stock arm even survived it, so I see no need to upgrade yet. I had an RPM set laying around for when I would break them, but I sold that to my buddy for his Slash.
The tires are not too large, but they work awesome. The outer diameter is 96mm.
During the speed runs I was running 16/40. The MMP/2650 has no problems with that.

Somehow i manage to pop out the shocks from either the stock towers, or A-Arms quite often on my pede (i guess part of this issue is due to the fact that I bought it used, so the mounting holes age, and it's time to replace them). So I ordered a new RPM shocktower-A-arm set (I don't have this problem on my rpm slash).

Wow, a 40 Teeth spur gear huh? It's a good way to compensate the small tires Could you pm me what part number that is, and where I can get them.
    Thanks

Nice carnage ole buddy. Nothing like some side to side run action with some friends. Even more fun when you spank them, or you get sucked in and loose control.

One of the first things I did is put a set of big bores on it because I had great experiences with those on my Bandit on which I bent every stock shaft and had popping off issues too. Since the big bores all those problems are gone.

The 16/40 gearing is Mod 1, I use the #3955 spur which is used on the Revo 3.3. Fits without mods.

Hehe. I couldnt agree more. Pity that I have to wait a week before my alu casters and carriers get here.
