    Mini Stampede

I LOVE my Stampede 4x4 and I have a rally VXL too so I am thinking about making it a mini stampede. What are your thoughts about this project? Any help will be appreciated!

I think that would be cool, wouldnt really be to scale unless you custom built it. Id subscribe to that thread.

Traxxas makes a 1/16 Stampede(Gravedigger), basically a 2wd Merv/Summit. I'm guessing that's what he's referring too. Making a true mini stampede would be very difficult unless you want to do lots of fabrication, as the suspension setup is completely different. I'd just get a Raptor body and put it on a Merv.

IMO $250 is a little high. I struggled to get $200 for my Merv when I sold it and it had a lot more hop ups.

Digger is a good base, only a handful of parts and its 4x4. It's also brushed with the titan 12t, remove it and the esc and you have a big block mount to work with.

I am not gonna use the Grave digger... I will use my rally and put MERV shocks, arms, tires, and try to find a body for the rally that looks like a Stampede... Oh! I forgot bumpers... Kind of a custom build... I don't know if that is what it is called...????

It would sorta be a MERV but a few things will be different...

I don't really know what it will look like but I think it will be lots of fun for a 1/16 scale car!

Ok. OP I understand what you were going for now, just looks wise. I thought you meant to build a scaled down stampede. My bad. Still they look cool with the raptor body on them!

What you are planning is to build is a MERV with a truck body. I don't want to be a bummer but theres really no magic to it. If it has a MERV chassis and components with MERV suspension its a MERV. The closest your going to get to a stampede body will be the Raptor that peterjet posted pics of. Its a really nice looking body. There are lots of wheel/tire options to try and match a stampede... You'll love the truck too. They are super capable and can be extremely fast with the right power system.

About that Raptor body... It's a Proline one which was more damaged in 2 days than my stock Merv body in a year. Dont get me wrong, I think Proline makes great parts, but when you land on your roof once with this one, you will have a crack in it.
The small amount of room under the rear end is also not too handy.

I agree with Pave, its the closest you can get to Pede looks. That is the reason I got it after being so happy with my 4x4 Pede.

I am planning to build a new shed in the garden. One of the reasons for that is to have a place for my R/C stuff a little further away from where my lovely partner holds up most of the time. When looking at the necessary budget, I get a little weird feeling. I can build two sheds for the money I put in my Merv only.
