Everything is looking very awesome so far.I like how the nitro sport rear graphite tower mounted up. I just received mine in the mail the other day and will begin my SRT project soon.

Thanks guys. Glad to see I get the vintage forum approval. I really love how that Maxtec matches the blue eagle transmission. On the SRT I have the ball diff that came with the truck...was in excellent shape just needed a clean up. I bought a brand new delrin top gear and aluminum idler. To keep the rotation mass down I will be using the peg style slipper. It handle the power of a 7700 in my old rustler it should be fine on the track. Hopefully I get this new job so I will be getting a Tekin RS Pro and a 7.5t and big bore stock(I love the charcoal black and gold shafts) Rd titanium suspension mounts, aluminum C-blocks and rear hubs, and titanium hingepins and turnbuckles. I know how you guys feel about aluminum but on our very small and tight offraod track it will add alot of strength. You guys can post pictures of your SRT it you like.

Very very nice!I really like that motor sitting on the blue motor mount!
I'll send you pics or a video of the clear gear cover tonight, tried to that on the wekend, but was too short... PS: payment and info sent for the orange motor, thank you so so much!

I think the "charcoal black and gold shaft" big bores do look nice as well. At first I was not sure about them but after seeing pictures of them on Steven Slaydens rustler project I bought them.
I got speedpede09 /SRT in today....what a nice truck. Even came with the Proline rears nib and new fronts but they're open. The manual is frozen in time...excellent condition. What's funny it in the manual they are working on a all white SRT...Daniel...how did your truck get in there lol.

Hahaha...My truck still has 3 black parts, I'm afraid... And, I'm going to request something about that SRT manual...

what track? bashers? imo dont run a 7.5t. i wouldnt run anything higher than a 10.5. and any boost you put in will be able to give you the rpm's you "need". anything more than a boosted 10.5 on florida clay tracks is just wasted wheel spin.
the stock plastic nitro rusty knuckles have never given me problems. maybe rear bearing carriers and hex's and maybe an aluminum front bulkhead to keep good weight bias.

Srt. I ran a boosted 7.5 at badgers in a t4.1....very insane but no wheel spin. I was getting almost 2 hours on a single battery. I focus boost at very low rpms for spool up. Some mod trucks are running 6.5t out there.

Very coolthanks for the pictures. I love box art pics! I will have to post some box art pictures of my LS-II when I get a chance. I think I will use the vintage nitro sport body on my SRT as well. It is actually very similar to the SRT body.
Very similar. Only problem is Traxxas cuts out the rear for the engine...so you'll have to find a different way to mount it. But rear wing is the same as the SRT. I just ran the SRT in my yard with a 27t stock. The electronics need to be upgraded now!!! The motor felt weak but it still has torque to pop a wheelie from a dead stop. The slipper was locked too. The motor got hot but you can feel it the motor plate and gaurd pulling alot of heat from the motor. The truck did have very sharp turning but a super slow servo. Anyways I cannot imagine this truck with a Tekin RS Pro and the right setup...going to be even more sick then a T4.1.

I could look at the SRT box art for hours and never get sick of it lol. I think it is one of the best looking truck bodies ever produced. My favorite picture is the side shot of the SRTIt looks like the SRT on the box has a black motor plate is that correct? I might have mine powder-coated black in the next few weeks. So now that you have a few SRT's what are your plans for them? One racer and a shelf queen?
I agree. The SRT box is wonderfully to look at. Imagine how many people threw the box in the trash. Right now I have 3 SRT. The one I have now is my little yard basher. Nothing crazy just going back and forth in the drive way and running it in the garage at night LOL. The one I showed just as the chassis is going to be my racer. Going to replace the fiberglass to.carbon fiber when I get the money. And the 3rd is a shelf queen. Only problem is I need a white battery box
. I am hunting down a tcp to shelf. I'm not a buggy guys but the older style buggies are soo much nicer looking then the ones today. Today they just to short and wide.

I agree vintage buggies are very nice. I need to finish off my TCP project. Right now I have too many projects going on and not enough time. In a way I kinda feel bad I ruined the out of the box look of my TCP but when it is finished it should look very good. I got the inspiration to do an all black TCP from the following link.
http://static.rcgroups.net/forums/at...raxxas_TCP.jpg
Anyways there is a almost complete TRX-3 on Ebay right now!!! It looks a little dirty but you can always whiten the parts and it should look like new.

I hope you win it. I am not going to bid because i just burned a huge hole in my wallet with my LS-II purchase![]()

I don't like the orange tint on that TRX-3, if you want a shelf queen you will have to replace all the white parts...![]()
He who dies with the most toys wins !!!
i might be bidding on that trx3 so yall back the frig off before i kill one of yall and bury you in the glades.
did i say that out loud?
anywayyyyyy
your all black buggy is sweet. who cares if it isnt factory correct. i only have 1 factory correct car in my collection.

Sorry cooleocool. Anyone have a white battery box? I need it for my shelf queen. BTW Daniel my mail is empty. So resend that pm

I do not have an extra white battery box. The only one I have seen recently is the one that is on the TRX-3 right now on Ebay. Refer to my above link for more info.
SWEET let me know. I just got back from the LHS and got front wheels for $1.25 each lol. Got 7 packs. I brought the truck in and some people were amazed how nice the truck was and loved te body style. But one kid working there said he rather have a Rustler VXL. I asked why, he says it does 70mphI went in detail explaining how the SRT can easily do 70mph and still out handle the Rustler. Then again he said the Stampede 4x4 been around for years

No 3gs hobby. Some people thought the SRT was cooler then the xo1 sitting next to it. But this kid just didn't have a clue. Saying the rustler has the better powerplant. Of course but nothing stopping me from dropping a vxl in the SRT
Edit. Everyone did love the SRT body style. Say it was sweet looking.![]()

oh 3g's. that makes sense.
they have been ok to me and all but yeah smetimes you leave there a little bewildered.
havent been there in the last 2 months, is the mini oval still there. they really screwed that deal up quick. :\
FieroMan121|SPC LiPo powered|Vintage TRX collector
Yes the mini oval track is still there. But again I'm a off-road Guy and will be running the truck at bashers.
Quick questing. I'm confused about what the SRT manual states about using the rear suspension arm mounts. It said the plus and minis 1° block adds 1° toe in for a total for 4° toe in or minus 1° for a total of 1° rear toe in. How is that possible and how do I use that feature?
Edit. I figured it out...on the SRT i didn't get from speedpede it was using the same arm mount on both sides.

ROFL,Thanks for reminding me. After six years with my Hawk2,four years with Amy's Hawk2,three years with my Bullet2,I made the same darned mistake when I re-assembled my Blue Eagle.
I'm gonna have a permanent dent on my forehead, lol.
Emaxx2.0,
The SRT looks Amazing!!!
I may have to break down and find one to build myself

Well got somthing today![]()
This also came with my new MVP![]()
I found the jerk after almost a year that kept biting my neck on my forklift. Payback is a you know what lol.
I love these MVP...awesome motors and they can be tuned to any track and any vehicles or any setting. Need rpms for a TC ok need low end torque for a ST on a tight track...no problem. Sad so many people always talk how junky these motors are. Anyway guys all I need now a NIB Reedy Rage Type R Plus ASC307 and Race Prep Outlaw stock for my collection. Going to get more pictures of my SRT tomorrow. It a nice and clam rainy night so I'll work on my truck.
and 1 lazy cat lol.

Well before I work on my SRT I wanted to do a tribute to the last greatest American motor. Something that will fit perfectly with the SRT. Innovation and going all out. The motor...The Race Prep 36° Outlaw Stock. I rebuilt it just for the truck. I would love to hunt a NIB 1(need your help on that one guys) as this is the ultimate stock motor. These motors were built and manufactures in the U.S.A before a new owner bought it and was using trinity motors..now it a hobbyshop. My Stepdad had the option to buy race prep for 15k b/c the original owner(I think it was Mike) was going to focus on industrial motor instead but we didn't have the money...I wish we did, would of been a dream for me.
Motor...just the motor very simple looking.
You can see the endbell. I install Team Orion Core Heatsinks.
This is a picture of the endbell screw. Notice it doesn't go through the top like other rebuildables. Not only was this very genius b/c it doesn't put any uneven pressure on the endbell or bushing which can bind the armature but it was extremely cost effective. The endbell and can are the very same as the Hack Attack(94-96) and the Purplehaze(I think 91-93). The difference is the Outlaw had lower resistance gold plated brush hood and stronger heatsink (colored black to dissipate heat better) and more powerful magnets(they almost as strong as the MVPs C4). This is what Americans are about simple and effective problem solving.
The Race Prep Outlaw Stock wasn't call a Outlaw for nothing. The main reason was it's 36° timing which helped it produced it's amazing power. Compare it to the norm 24° timing standard stocks have like say...a MVP. Just look how much timing there is!
Inside the motor.
The picture of the inside of the endbell. Notice how close the brushhoods are to each other? So close you cannot get even the phenolic motor shim(one that goes by the comm) to past without damaging it. They did this b/c it reduces the amount of shifting or play(I honestly can think of the correct word lol) the brush faces when the comm spins. What this is was increase brush life, kept the power consistent and kept the alignment more true to the brushhoods. This idea was so far ahead then anything else...it was finally brought back with the Trinity Cobalt Modifies motors.
Heres the MVP endbell for the idea. Notice how far apart they are compare to the Race Prep?
Here is the very heart of the motor. The Armature. Beautiful quad rotor design, epoxy balanced, hand wound windings and the windings are soldered unlike other stocks using a folded tap. This wasn't a stock motor...it was a modified 27t lol. Here is a picture of it next to a New MVP arm and a Trinity 12t double. You can see how Race Prep wasn't playing. BTW the Race Prep arm is new just had a slight cut on the comm and the new Race Prep brushes were installed and broken in.
IMO...the windings match if not surpasses the Trinity's Mod hand wound(I only say that b/c you're talking almost a decade between the 2 and one is a 27t vs a 12t) and destroys the MVP machine wound (very sloppy but this isn't the MVP nor Reedy's fault...it's Roar trying to keep motors "FAIR"...I use that lightly b/c we know they favored whoever payed the most money).
