Had I known how much the prices would drop on the XO-1s I would have just rebuilt it because I just bought a brand new roller+ under $200. I am debating on running a 2wd setup this time though on 8s. Waiting on your results.

Call me a glutton for punishment, but since I have the almighty Kershaw Designs steel pinion I will probably go with the same setup in 2wd mode.

I'm also working on an alternative to the kershaw motor mount setup. Waiting on gears from fartofdoom. They will be the deciding factor on fitment. If everything works out, I should be able to save people $60-70 when trying to mount the leopard motor.

You should make a mount for the bigger 1/5 scale Leopard motor.

I think it's the 5692-1090 KV or the 5692-750 KV

On the topic of a 2wd conversion - Are you planning on using a gyro?

The 5692 is 10mm longer than the 5682. The battery cups would be in the way. It would be tough to fit that length motor in there. As far as a gyro, no I will not run one. I have tried in the past with little to no success. I found the gyro to make corrections that were not to my liking.

I have had kind of mixed results with a gyro as well. I am currently experimenting with one and have found that at very high speeds you have to turn the gain down or it will over correct and wreck you. Also, just because you reduce your steering in the traxxas link does not mean the gyro follows suit. Totally independent.

On my rustler I turned the gyro down to almost nothing and still didn't like it so I quit trying and ran without.

What other motors are you testing with the new mount? I would like to run a motor that uses 5mm or 8mm gears since it's so hard to get 6mm for the Kershaw setup.

I believe you can get the 5682 with an 8mm shaft. I'm focusing on that motor because I know the length will fit.

8 pairs of 8 mm connectors
    Castle Cap Pack
    8 gauge wire
    HighGear ESC Mount
    Black dish XO-1 wheels/tires
Stock 34T pinion drilled to 6 or 8 mm
    2 spare front bumpers

My XO-1 roller hasn't arrived yet and I couldn't find a buyer for the Slash so I ordered some parts and they arrived today. Debating on keeping this as a camera chase car for the XO-1.

really gunna depend on what type gyro u are using. diff gyros have different sensitivitys than others. you can buy cheap 1s for 40 bux or buy baller 1s for like 200. sounds like u r using a cheap 1. no offense bc i luv ur setup. mad propz 2 u my man. u really changin da game 4 guyz like us.

when i say sensitivity i mean to vibrations from vehicle as well.

You need to call PayPal and get your money back. Rollers on eBay now for $199.

Maybe I won't be ordering it...

Dude, you have the worst luck. I think PayPal should cover the money and go ahead and refund you. It's not your fault at all.

looks like i am the proud new owner of your old ride bringit.. I traded a super5 sc roller for it. bought the motor and esc off the guy. The thing that sucks is he was having problems with the cap bank shorting on the - neg side and re-soldered it touching the cap towards the end.. i found this out after i hooked up a 6s lipo to it and thought the thing was gonna disappear like a magician in a poof of smoke... lol i think all it did was blow the caps on the inside of the esc. luckily i go to itt tech for electical engineering and i may be able to have my program chair fix it. unless you still have a receipt layin around. i even got that garmin to work, and have a bag of your curb stomped parts. he rebuilt the car to like new condition. so here i sit with no dang esc.

Cool man. Not sure what was done to it after I sold it, but I don't have the receipt for the ESC as I bought all of that directly from Kershaw with cash in hand. Hope you get it up and running shortly and make some vids.

Refund on my XO-1 roller is pending until 7/11/13 now because the guy doesn't have enough funds...
