Should I BuyMy Friends Jato 3.3?

    Hey guys,

My friend recently texted me asking if I would want to buy his Jato 3.3 for a $170. He said I can buy it for $150. He bought it off one of his friends and he hasn't it ran it yet cause he doesn't have any nitro. I said i would let him use a tank full of mine to test drive it. If it runs well, then I may buy it. Would this be a good track truck for racing? I have a t maxx 2.5 with a dynamite mach 2 .19 and an e maxx 3906. Not sure if I want to get another nitro, but for $150 I think I might invest.

if i were you and had the money i would definitely buy it. Looks clean parts looks very good as well. Being that you have other nitros im sure you can get it up and running. Go for it!

BUY, BUY, BUY !!!! The thing is a beast. You will not be dissapointed. I have three nitro and three electric VXL's and I always grab the Jato first. My favorite R/C car. Replace rear tires with some dirt hawgs or similiar and it will go anywhere

I'd check and see if you could save the engine, pull the engine apart and see whats locking it up. I've been able to save a few that were "locked up", they ended up just being really gummed up from sitting for a few years with fuel in them.

the piston/sleeve, and conrod is around $60.00, for $110.00 you can get a new engine from ebay, electric conversion around $100.00 (velineon system). If you want to stay nitro I would get a new engine, if not electric is a good option.

To back up RC Fan to an extent, nitro is cheaper, but brushless is better.

Not sure I would agree that brushless is better. :-) I have 4 Nitro's and 3 Brushless cars/trucks and I have spent more time/money on the brushless trucks than my Nitro's. Between, ESC's, LiPo batteries etc... it gets pricey.

I prefer nitro myself. But brushless is faster/less maintenance/cheaper to run.

From a motor perspective, I would agree 100%. Plus I like the fact that I can hose everything done on a BL system.
