Cool New XO-1 1/8 setup! 150A ESC and 2150kv motor. Pics inside.

Just finished my new setup. I'm gonna be doing a lot of testing with this setup starting with the stock gearing. I'll be running 6s through it. I'm gonna watch motor and ESC temps closely. Hopefully tomorrow will be the first day of testing. Check out the pics.

I'll update as soon as I can. Hopefully it won't rain today and the wife will let me play for a bit.

Why did you ditch the XL2 setup?

I still have the XL2 setup. I installed the 1/8 system to test it as part of a business venture. I figured the XO-1 would really put a system to the test considering it's weight and speed capabilities.

I only got about 5 minutes of run time with the stock gearing yesterday before it started raining.
It did run very well, though and seemed to be able to reach good speed. I don't think I took it over 1/2 throttle and it was moving pretty good. I did give it bursts of throttle at lower speeds to see how the car would "sprint". It would spin all 4 tires and move out quickly. The tires were just starting to get warm when the rain came. This ESC was very easy to program with the programming card and it can also be programmed via a PC, but I don't have the adapter for it. It can also run sensored motors, so I think it will work well with the motor I have. Anyway, more testing to come and hopefully I'll be able to run a full 6s through the car in one shot and really see where the temps go. I bought the system for testing purposes, so I'm not afraid to burn it up. I'm going to run it hard to see just how an 1/8 system will really do in an XO-1. Stay tuned...

Ok, so took the XO-1 out today to run it around on my street to measure temps and what not with stock gearing. Everything seemed to be going good until the car started making some weird noises while moving. I stopped the car and removed the body and tried to push the car to see if maybe a rock got caught in the gears or something. No rocks but the car didn't wanna budge. Hmmm.... took the car inside and removed the motor. It was locked up tight. Took it apart and found loose pieces of copper wire that are larger than the wire used for the windings. Um weird. So, those pieces came loose and got between the rotor and the stator and tore the rotor all up. Took pics to send to the manufacturer to see what they say. Oh well.

The combo came from ztwoem. I've already put the xl2 and stock motor back in.
