Do I need a special traxxas 2.4 receiver for my spartan can I use the car receivers the hobby shop guy said u have to have the marine one cause other get inturuppted over water? This true?

I thought so cause I typed in spartan recover on eBay and it came up with spartan / rustler / slash and so on hmm

the 2.4 reciever (2218) are fully functional to either truck, car or boat. just have to bind them to work with your transmitter.
