    If I get the sv2 and 4600 kv motor will I be able to power it enough with 2s 2200 mah 20C or a 3s 1800 20C

Yes, it will get pretty hot with the 3s if you run aggressive gearing. I prefer my velineon 3500 over my CC 4600kv.

it will be ok, you shouldnīt have any heat issues, old 4600 can run up to 4s, newer 4600 4 pole motor are stronger, get at least 25c batts.

I ran mine today on ***** 1800mah 20c 3s and after 5 speed passes i could barely touch the motor. Same setup with the velineon 3500 and it barely got hot after a ton of speed passes.

Korn how hot? too hot to touch is not accurate, I had 4600, 5700kv, and never had a temp issue, what gearing are you running ?

I was just wandering cause I could get the combo for $100 or I could just get the esc for $60 then gat a tacon ( there finally in stock) idk I'll prolly use my friends Velineon 3500

I dont have a temp gun. And i know touch isnt accurate. But its enough to know my cc 4600 runs quite a bit hotter than the velineon 3500. And i run 31/45 gearing and just do speed passes on the road.

on the same setup and on batteries than can support a 4 pole motor, as they are amp hungy, that castle will run a lot cooler than the traxxas 3500

running sub-par batteries, is not a good choice

if you can't afford to make the proepr upgrades, then don't do them

Korn stop selling me on the velineon I'm so close to buying one lol the price is unbeatable I just hope it will be a noticeable difference between my stock vxl... Now the next question is do I even have to get the velineon esc for the 1/10 since my current one should still be able to power it?
Whatever I just said.. I'm probably wrong..

I donīt think the stock esc can handle a 1/10 motor, it barely supports the 380 motor.

the 3m is not going to work with a 1/10 vxl motor......

BBs are heavy. You are gonna be landing very hard if you jump high with a bb. Specially the 3500! The 3500 is noticeably heavier than the CC 4600kv motor.

Mossie, I love my CC motor! If i had a temp gun and knew if if was running at a safe temp then i would use it all the time. But till then im not gonna keep running it and getting it soo hot not knowing if im hurting it. I could gear lower but why would i do that when i can run the same gearing with a different motor and not have to worry about it running hot and only loosing 1mph?

    What gearing should I use
Chould the stock spur and pinion work
Or is it that under powered or overpowered
I'm looking not for speed runs but for drivining around and off roading with dirt hawgs the buggy ones

If you are into hard off roading you should stick with a small block. You don't need all that extra weight and raising the center of gravity .
