New glow plug - still no glow?
Hello!
Been troubleshooting my Jato 2.5, and found out that my original glow plug would not glow (tested by removing it and holding it against the cylinder head with the wire from the EZ starter connected to it.)
So I bought a new one, and still the same thing - no glow. The weird thing is, I've measured the voltage to make sure it goes through the glow plug, and it does. Neither the old nor the new one will even get hot, even though I've tried with both the EZ starter and with just connecting the plug to a battery directly.
What I don't get is how the electricity can pass through the glow plug (been trying with voltages from ~1.3 up to 9) and nothing happens. But as I can measure a voltage through the glow plug, it can't be broken, can it? I mean, doesn't it work like a incandescent light bulb (if the wire's broken, no electricity would be able to pass)?
Any help greatly appreciated, thank you!

Is your glow plug wire pretty shredded?

It's not in top shape I guess. But like I said, I've checked it with a voltmeter, so the problem couldn't be the blue or yellow wire, could it? What really confuses me is that I get no glow with just a battery wired to the glow plug, but I get a measurable current through it - how is that possible?
