I was wondering if anyone can give me advice on doin backflips? Do u pretty much just loosen up the slipper and once I leave the ramp give her throttle till it does a full rotation. Is it just trial and error

I backflip my VXL Digger all the time... It may be different on your truck but here is what works for me... I have an 18" tall vert ramp. Start rolling towards the ramp at half throttle and 3-5 ft from the ramp punch it and stay on the throttle till you make a full rotation get off the throttle right before you land (to save the driveshafts) I hope this helps but it will still take a lot of trial and error and maybe a few broken parts till you get it down... Im working on a double backflip but it is costing me a lot of body mounts and I will prob need a new body before I get consistant with it![]()

i find it easier to do frontflips i just mash the brakes after the ramp till im almost leveled back out and let off... but yes its the same concept for backflips keep it hammered till you level out and let off... i dont loosen slippers up
Traxxas is good, but so are other Manus
No need to loosen the slipper, just let off the throttle before you land. The wheel/tires are what cause the backwards rotation of the truck when you apply the throttle, the heavier the tires/wheels the easier it is to complete the back flip.
A ramp with a little curve to it at the end of the ramp will help to get the flip started.
Just know that the rpms usually needed to complete the flip are extremely hard on nitro engines compared to an electric motor.
Have a listen to the rpms during the flip. Too many of those and you will be posting about a broken con rod or piston...

No slipper/tall gearing/power = broken parts.
Ok guys thanks for the info. I'll be tryin some tomorrow and hopefully I can get someone to record a few attempts
Make sure to let off the throttle before you land or you will be pulling chipped diff gears out of your car.
O also keep an eye on your motor mount mine comes loose when backflipping.
along with locktite on motor mount screws. ive bashed mine hard time and time again without it coming loose jumping. yet without it my mount would come loose just driving on flat ground and no jumps.

Actually backflipped my new tmaxx the other day at work by driving up a tree and flipping off of it. The first time was a trial and came out amazing. The second time I over rotated it but still landed it. Of course the camera was only rolling for the second one. I am going to try to post tree video.
This is the only back flip I have on film.
