Id say no. The body posts take a lot of abuse if you arent a great driver. Id rather replace the stock plastic ones than aluminum ones. A lot of guys on here dont even use the body posts. They just put velcro on the battery doors and on the shell.
aluminum is good, but never in these areas
-a-arms
-body posts
-bumpers and bumper mounts
above all stay away from rdlogics and integy aluminum, want to know why look it up![]()
Traxxas is good, but so are other Manus
Integy aluminum bulkheads are good. The only reason why I know that is because I run them and they've held up well in a crash.
I went threw a few sets of plastic posts gave up went aluminum love it! Hasn't grinded down to much and was cheap too! Well worth the 10$ for 4!! Go for it or Velcro way

I have the aluminum ones as well.. I was flipping so much that you could hardly find the hole to put the pins.. these are holding up a lot better. But i got sick of losing or bending pins and just Velcro the body to the battery doors.. cheaper then buying pins and body posts..
i run hr aluminum posts and love hem

i love my extended length dp alloy body posts
Love how Noobs ask a ?, then say you're wrong
alu bodypost are not so superB if ya flip 1x and slide on the roof a couple of meters
then you damage them even harder as the stock ones
also i got velcro on my batt doors now because tyred of loosing pins and bend them
and i lost many of these pins the last couple of months (more then 17)
Xtreme has no limiits
I got gh racing post and love them. I use them on the front because my revo likes being upside down a lot. The only got them cuz there where free to me.
I would stick with the plastic. I have never broken a body post and aluminum seems heavy

Aluminum is light compared to steel but heavy compared to plastic
I like my GPM alu one.

Nobody is born with experience.
I'll never run an aluminum front body mount again. I had the HR, and my friend wrecked my car the very next day and destroyed it. A few months later I tried the GPM one which I loved, but again a friend wrecked it and destroyed the mount. RPM really should step up and make a front body mount.
True, both my friends wrecked it in a gnarly way, but $20 for an aluminum mount that can totally break does not compare to a $4 mount that breaks even less.
if you copy my bracket you wouldn't have to worry about broken mounts i have ran head first into a car tire at over 30 and it was fine![]()
Very nice. I must just have had some bad luck. The GPM mount is the most attractive IMO. I'll get around to making that brace sometime, 50togo.
sounds good just need some 1/2" metal (mine had holes already from a car stereo bracket kit) fold it and drill a hole and longer bolt with a washer![]()
if you use those body clips that are bent upwards and stick them in pointy side facing windscreen you ali nubs are pretty much protected i find anyhowz.. peace
I didn't know about the Velcro. Good idea cause i have the same problem I've found alum hold up rather well even integy and trust me I'm upside down more than any other way.
I'm with you on that. My front stock plastic mounts were shaved down rather quick. I run HR aluminium up front since a year and they look abused but hold up well.
I had not much luck with velcro on the battery doors. My doors are ripped out and damaged more often with velcro on to hold the body. Maybe i'm using the wrong (too sticky) 3M velcrostuff?
Well I'm glad to hear that before I tried it
velcro works great, just take your time when taking the body off don't just rip it off in a hurry
some of the crashes i have been in would of bent up an aluminum body post ,stock ones usually flex and bend back
Run mine in the the lowest position and can not see how this config should flex?
On the other hand, I would not run an alloy bodymount. That part should be able to flex a little bit at the ends, where the body post sits in, imho.
if you hit a car tire at 40 head-on with the front bumper it will flex!
Nah, that's what i have my T-Bone Trasher front bumper for.
Had like that crash a couple of weeks before, hitting a real car tire at WOT.
Car was perfectly saved and the T-Bone warantied.
50togo I did the same thing with a thin piece of carbon fiber, I've never har a problem since. I just had to drill a small hole in the plastic and put a nut on the back. Using velcro to mount the body I don't care if the posts get worn out I just use them for support, I suppose the whole thing could be cut down to a bumper mount if you love velcro so much but I don't think that would be good for the body on hard impacts.

I like turtles.
I'm gonna have to make me a little brace like u and 50togo has.
That's great inventive minds!
I don't know how fast you guys are going but I ran head on at 50mph into a wall (transmitter flaked out) and only snapped my chassis in the weak spot under the front springs.
If your breaking stuff going 30 into a car tire then I think you got other problems.![]()

Before I made my brace I had just replaced a new bumper mount and broke it first run into a tire at below 30. Doesn't take much just a perfect hit in the right spot
Trust me 50 is right.. Ask him how many timesbive come on here wit something broke only doin about 30
I was breaking bumper mounts all the time before I added the brace I'm using, now I can use bumper mounts with the small plastic tabs torn off (the tabs go between the chassis and bulkheads) and the whole thing is very solid. Since it hasn't been a problem recently I think I want to try aluminum body posts because aluminum lasts longer than plastic as long as it doesn't break other things.

If you buy the summit bumper set it comes with a brace...its beast too. With it and my t-bone I have piece of mind lol
