Can't charge traxxas nimh 5000mah :( help

I’ve just bough an EZ-peak plus charger and a couple of traxxas nimh 5000mah series 5, 8.4v power cell.

I can’t manage to charge those cells correctly, after between 5 to 30m the charger bip and indicate it’s full

When i use the battery i can only play like 5m and it’s out of power.

Can you tell me the exact and best settings to charge this specific cells ?
I’ve use 2 different settings without succes
Nimh charge : auto
Cur limit : 5.0A and 3.0A
Nimh sensitivity D.peak . Default and 6mV/cell

The original 3000mah coming with the vxl is working fine and i can charge it using one of those setting.

It would be very kind of you if can give me a hand on that.

has it a capacity setting which is set at 3000 for the other battery and needs changing to 5000

that's what i've done trying first at 5mah and then 3mah thinking maybe it will help

Charge at 1amp and see if there's a difference. How old is the battery?

they are brand new.
do i have to discharge it first ? if so wich setting for discharging ?

I just bought a Traxxas charger and several NiMh batteries. The traxxas charger was false peakin all over the place, same as yours but sometimes only charging for a minute at a time.

I charged them manually (with the included charger) and then ran them. Then charged them again. All good ever since.

I seemed to recall that methodology from about 2004ish, the last time I had new NiMh's.
