How fast is your slash?What gears ? I want high top speed.

I just upgraded my slash 2wd to velineon and installed the optional gears that i got free on the box, 23 86 and it goes really fast, i would like to go faster, or be ready for faster speeds. any suggestions ,, how fast you guys gone?

Traxxas makes a 76 tooth spur. You can get up to about a 35 tooth pinion on there.

Put in a nice 3s 11.1v Lipo and you will be reaallly fast!

Turok, dont even think of 70mph with slash, too heavy. I got max 63mph with 31/76 3s 5000mah lipo. Plus i had street fighters, ball bearing all around, stiff shocks.

im not going for any real speed runs. it's only because i m getting a new gps so im going to be testing all my cars. i do have a Venom Speed Meter but it is a real pain having to keep setting it up in all my cars. but i do have a 1/8th truck with a novak setup. and im thinking of fitting the novak into the slash on 14 nimh just to see the speed and to see what will give on a basic slash. lol

I have no clue. The other day was running it up and down the street on a 4cell and it was tearing it up. Think I saw flames coming from the asphalt at one time LOL.

why testing with nimh ? pointless, you know the speed is going to me much lower than with lipo. Try android apps, i use my phone to clock speed, its hella accurate, even more accurate then car speedometer, Lol true story, i was riding my bike once and put on a GPS to set max speed, got pulled over with 62mph, motorcicle was showing 60mph, cop told me 62mph too. so i trust it like no others

Hi what sort of distance did it need to get to the 70mph mark.

It will do 0-70 in about 5.5 seconds. But it takes around 500 feet to get up to that speed, and probably 300 to come to a stop. After all, 70mph is over 100ft/s.



Of course, it's good for about 6 passes and then everything is hot. If you're just looking for higher, usable top speed, you'll want lower KV with higher voltage.

i have lipos as well. but i just wanted to know what my cars are doing also i might be able to get some more battery run time with a gear change but not loose to much speed. so a gps would help out alot.

Front downforce.

In our high-speed runs on the big oval, the PF-8 body would blow over if you hit a bump at top speed. The late model body never did.

im runnin 53-55mph in my 2wd slash. vxl/velinion with 32 pitch gears (15pinion, 56spur), 3s 5000mah 20c. never got airborn yet and i always run with my body on. i do have some holes nicely drilled into the body and the front of the body sitting a little lower than the rear to help.

i would just jack up the rear of the body. raising the rear of the body should help a good bit. thats pretty much how i have my body and it doesnt blow over at 54mph.

This worked...I made it way smaller and it still handles 60mph. The rear of my body is well vented also.

I got mine to 54.6 mph using I think 31/86. Very slow acceleration. I was using the VXL. And a 3s 20c lipo.

rcman you get heat issues? cause thats a really low gear ratio. you should have a higher topspeed than that.

With 35/76 on 3S 45-85C 4700mah I was getting 57mph.(4S:75mph) Thats with a 2400Kv motor. With a 5000Kv (same 3S batt) and 31/76 with expanded tires I touched 66mph.

Just came back from running 31/76 and it went really fast then airborne, I need to add weight on the front. I used 5800 mah 2s 25c. Still waiting for my 6400 mah 40-80 discharge rate 3s I ordered from hong kong. Judge u should patent that design and buil them and I'm sure someone like me would pay 15 dollars for it
