Update: Fr Losi Ten T/ STRC Shocks mounted, Revo Spec'd Slipper & Fr Sway installed

Yay!! Another good evening of installation. I bolted up the Fr Losi Ten T/ STRC's, man they look good with the black springs.

Fr Sways are in. The bar will be bolted down once I get the chassis slide and fastened down in place.

I had a spare Revo Spec'd Slipper to use for my build. I think i'm going to put one of these on my P4de. I like this much better than the stock one.

Also bolted the King Heads bearing adapter while upgrading to the Revo Slipper.

I test fitted the Tekno outdrive on the Slipper side. Looks great.

I'm still waiting on the HR bellcrank & c-blocks, darn things still havent shipped yet. Arhhhh....I want to drive this truck this weekend without having to tear into it to install those new parts.

Digger, Very impressive build so far. What bearings do you use for your build? I'd be surprised if you don't invest into some ceramic bearings

Ha! I know right. I've never run a set. This sucker will be bashed and i've had good luck so far with rubber shielded. I just can't see spendin that much money on a set, but maybe if i was a meticulous carpet racer they would have been on top of my list. LOL

I know, they are expensive. I paid $75 for a Boca Ceramic yellow shield kit, and i've been very happy with them. If they last 3 times longer, then I'd would say $ well spent. One of the reason I bought it was that I want to run in water without worrying too much about bearings freeze due to rust(I did waterproof my MMP and Hitect servo as well).

Very true. You never know I may look into them in the future. How much of a performance gain have you gotten from them. I buy most of my bearings from Avid ( Houston ) which is close to me. They offer some to.

Funny you mention those. I just got a few ceramic Avid ones in the mail. I will put 2 in my 2400 and try some on my Pede.

To be honest, I can't tell the difference as I am a bashser myself. I bought it mainly for durability, the rust-free nature of ceramic ball /stainless steel housing combination. Moreover, I didn't want to spend too much time replacing my bearing too often

How do you like the quality of the Avid ceramics? I need to make me a list of all the bearings i would replace to those. Maybe sometime in the near future it would be a good upgrade.

I compared them with the rather new bearings that came out of the 2400Kv (had only few speed runs) and they feel a lot better. There was a tiny bit of slop on the motor axle already which totally disappeared with the Avids in it. Not much info on the actual use tho, but first impression is good. I'll keep you posted.

Wink Update: Rear bulk, chassis, Desert Rat body trimmed

    Hello, Hello!!
I little update to the Desert Rat Sl4sh build. Sorry guys/ gals for taking so long. I mounted the Revo Spec'd Slipper, rear bulk to the chassis, and trimmed the Desert Rat body up. Tonight I hope to put my graphics on. It'll be a surprise at what they will be. I went and looked in my paint stash and noticed I have a few other colors I can add to the mix possibly. I may run a few of this available colors by you guys and see what you think about them. Currently I have cobault blue, and silver, which might be good enough for the look.

Here are the updated pics. I like to paint a picture so here ya go. LOL

I'm going to try and mount the graphics on the body later this evening/ tonight. It'll be a surprise for ya'll. I'm still waiting on my HR Bellcrank and C-Blocks...........so........

Nah. I saw it a week ago from a guy who has it in some HPI truck. Quite an impressive can. I had a cola can which appeared to have the same size.

Update: 17mm wheels & Desert Rat body

I bolted up one set of 17mm wheels, & badlands wannabes. These are actually a nice tire. Thanks RC-Fan. We'll see how these hold up. I also did a little trimming to the wheel wells and reemed the holes for the body mounts. I re washed the body, im going to try and slap the graphics on tomorrow. Rather later this morning.

Anyways here are a few shots.

Oh and i mounted my receiver and test ran it earlier. It's a beast.

Ok, this build is officially up and running! Nice work Digger, lots of top end components put to work here. What's the battery plans for this truck? What oils did you put in the f/r shocks and f/r diff? I like the tires, really nasty treads. The taller thin tires make tearing through rough yards and lawns easy. I bet you feel the fronts a bit soft, slaps to easily? In this line of truck, I feel it performs its absolute best when the shocks are fast acting, a bit on the loose but smooth, quick bounce when you push on the body and let go quickly. I did a few different things with my basher. I went heavy oils/springs/angles, and tried light, soft. The most capable for my smashing and bashing all the city terrain and jumps but kills it on the all around is a soft set up. Im running 27.5 f/r with heavy gold springs. It slaps the street and dirt all the time! Its tough to find a chassis friendly landing pad lol. But the whole chassis slap thing it just the way it is for the bigger builds. If you want it to perform like a champ, let it stay soft but springy, links a 1:1 feel when bouncing the front or rear end. In your case, with the heavy motor, the rpm arms are going to have an arch, they bend and stay bent rather quick on a basher too. That's one reason I'm running the "Mag" arms. You may want to consider protrac for the replacement, I feel the proline material is solid, proven, better mounting choices. And I've never had one take on a new shape, lol but I change out rpm arms about once a month because the beatings curve the arms. Same for the bumpers but its just the way it goes. Well, im impressed, really nice build! Oh, one more thing, get a closer shot of that Tekno center shaft please. I like the looks of that thing too.

Nope sure didn't. They came premounted by suprasales on eBay. I'm testing them to see how they hold up. $45 shipped for 2 sets. I can't complain.

You get a bigger hex, which in turn has a bigger bite on the wheel. Also opens the doors to buggy tires and more wheel/ tire choices.
