problem with ez peak plus and nimh 5000mah series 5

    hi
i just got the charger today, this is my first time and i'm not sure what's hoinh wrong.
so i'm using an ez peak plus charger and nimh 5000mah series 5 8.4v

i'v set the ez charger in nimh mode, adjust to 5A max and let it in auto mode
when i start to charge after 5m the charger rings and said the battery is fully charged !
while charging the voltage go up to 10.xxV and Amp stick to 5.

i guess maybe there's a trouble with the voltage ?

when i'm triying to use che battery in my stampede vxl the light just blink red and green wich is the error code for no power battery or over voltage protection

can you please explain to me what i'll have to do now, do i have to discharge the battery first ? if so how exaclty.

    thansk in advance.

It sounds like you have a problem with the receiver. Post this in the transmitter section or in the truck section.

I think your batteries are fully charged but the radio needs to be reset.

can you tell me how to reset it ?

a friend of mine have the same model, i took his ESC (the blue boix ) and it's working perfectly.
so i guess this part is broken or maybe if we are talking about the same thing, needs to be reset.

I'm no expert but I charge 7 and 8 cell nimhs at 3 amps seems to do better than 5 for me.
As far as your esc I wonder if it just needs reset perhaps you bumped the button or accidentally went into programming turning it on.
Hope you get it straightened out so you can get that pede out and running!

    thanks for your help
    i have a vxl.
i've tried to reset it, not working
a friend of mine have the same model, i took his and plug it in my car, works fine.
    i guess mine is dead

right now i still have trouble charging the 5000mah.
for the 3000mah i've used those settings and it's working fine
    nimh/ 3amp / 6mv/cell sensitivity peak
after 50m the battery is fully charged

    for the 5000mah i've tried :
    5amp / 7mv/cell sensitivity peakl
charging stops after more or less 5m and said full

can you give me your exact settings with an ez peak plus and traxxas series 5 8.4v 5000mah please
and settings to uncharge it too.

    thanks in advance.

Check the auto shut offs mah and total volts on your charger! you really need to make sure you program the thing before you fire it up!
