    yet another question

just installed the traxxas steel center shafts and was wondering if the red ring on the end is supposed to cover the screw to the output shaft. i hope you say no because I'm pretty sure i used the enclosed screws an they are to long for that ring to slide over. Also, all the way tight i don't think it sinks deep enough either
thanks guys for all your help so far its made a difference!

The red ring rests against the screw on mine, doesn't cover it. Pretty sure that is how it's meant to be.

thanks, i thought so. but wouldn't it be better if traxxas designed it to cover the screw so it couldn't back out????

it would probably retain moisture and rust weld the screw. only reason i came up with that they didnt do that. the screws stay in pretty well though, ive only lost one in the time ive been running them.

they should use stainless or titanium screw then an charge a buck more. would really give piece of mind on that area. i did use blue lock tite though so i don't think ill have a problem

spare screws are still a great thing to carry. ive been running those shafts for awhile and did loose one. very noticeable when your summit becomes front wheel drive.
