    Prep Requirements for ERBE

Ok, so I'm a kind of newb when it comes to RC vehicles. But it has been a hobby that has interested me from a young age (used to drive the little tyco's, and then moved up to x-mods, I haven't messed with either for a few years now. My grandpa also used to fly rc planes). I wanted a truck that I could use anywhere whether it be off-road or on-road and that could perform well. So yesterday I bought an ERBE, and I am now waiting for it to ship. In the meanwhile I've been trying to do as much research as I can to make sure I don't mess up my investment. I've already read the addendum, and have been trying to look for some of the other manuals for the rig. I've noticed a few of you saying that you did a little prepping before your first run. Could you enlighten me as to what you did to prep the vehicle?

You might consider an upgraded set of wheels/tires for onroad running. Its a shame to wear out a good set of off road tires in only a few runs on pavement. Just a thought.

Yeah, I'm planning on getting a set for on-road and a set for off-road. I'll mainly be using it in an empty football sized field about a block away. It used to have a small school on one end, but they demolished it.

I'm curious about if it would be better to set it to auto lipo or to set it to the correct cutoff voltage once I put the lipo's in. I can some some advantages of each setting. But will only be using one set of lipos in it, at least for now.

Get the castle link USB adapter and leave the setting to auto lipo but up the setting from 3.2 to 3.4. Look at the rear chassis brace mod searching these forums. There is a specific link that fits perfectly.

The most important prep is to make sure the index finger on the left hand becomes real sensitive. A ham handed left index may cause broken bits. Learn to feather the throttle.

The other prep is to sit and smile in the mirror so you can learn the biggest grin possible.

Well the good news is the truck came in yesterday. The bad news is I ended up getting food poisoning and the I bought doesn't work. So I'm having to send it back for a replacement.

Dont worry about the rear brace mod. Get rid of the rear wing. It's basically only for show and when the truck flips it causes a lot of stress on the rear of the truck, specifically the rear body mount and the rear bulkhead.
Get rid of the rear wing.
