    Steering nightmare!!!

Ok so here's my problem. I've been working on my steering for 2 days now and I just don't get it. I have done the no slop mod to my truck. And I have 2 power hd 1501 servos. I put everything together and I try to turn my wheels they move about a inch each way and won't move but if there's no weight on them they move get. I've built this truck so idk what the problem is. I also took the 2 servos off and tried it with just 1 traxxas 2056 and same thing. I really don't know what the problem is and I'm to frustrated to even think anymore.*

    Ok
    1. This can be caused by slop in the hexes. Do the tires wobble on a vertical axis (if you are facing the front of the upsidedown truck do the tops of the tires move towards and away from the chassis?)
    2. What do you mean by "no slop mod" is it the dual bell-crank or the bushing-bearing mod or something else?
    3. Does this happen with the front skid plate instaled? If so, check that the bottoms of the bell cranks are in the right position that they lock into the skid?
    4. check the same thing with were the cranks atach to the chassis, and make sure they are tightend with the screws in the RX box.
    5. is there wear on the accual saver peices, do they fit together well, do you need a new spring?
    6. Are the accual bell cranks (blue things) in good shape?

Ok. There's no wiggle in the tires. It's the dual servo saver mod, I seen it on the forum somewhere. The blue bell cranks are in good shape they are old but still good. All the rest of my steering pieces are brand new got them today. I have tightened the screws down till they got tight an it help some. I look when I'm on the carpet and try to turn the wheels and the one saver starts to slip pretty good. I'm also using the black spring that it says to use for the emaxx

Only one of them moves. It's like the other doesn't have enough pressure on it to make it slip

Go back to the thread with the 2 saver mod and look at what he says on the second page about that. it has something to do with how much you cut of stuff I think.

Ok well I guess I'll take it all apart again and cut skittle more off It. I'll report back when it's done.

Well before I do anything let me see if I have this right. The post that I cut should be shorter then the other so it doesn't act as the primary side?

You want them to accuate at the same time. So, trial and error will tell when they are correct. I theory they should be the same height, but theroys dont always transltate smoothy into real life.

What if I just glue the second servo saver together? They mentioned that somewhere in the post.

No don't glue it together, you will tear up something then. And it seems that PowerToTheMaxx is on the right track. Several place in that mod thread say that the cut off height of the post directly affects how well or poor the mod works.

Check out post #30. Guys that were having trouble with the mod eliminated the short linkage between the servo and the added saver. Basically bypassing the added saver.

    http://traxxas.com/forums/showthread...al+servo+saver

I guess I found the right height. I did this mod only after having the truck a couple of months. It's still working great and have not stripped anything.

Also notice that they mention that the cut post needs to be higher in the center like dome shaped. The molded side has a ring or lip, this lip allows the bearing to spin properly. The idea of shaping the modded side like a dome is to get that bearing to work properly. If the modded side is not cut perpendicular and it's an angled cut there could be binding issues with the bearing.

    That my theory anyways.
