I was looking at the Summit specs and the esc says evx2 with low voltage cutoff. It may be worth picking it up to avoid messing around with all of those LVAs.

Hmm the plot thickens. This http://traxxas.com/products/models/e...07summit-specs says that the evx2 has low voltage detection, but this http://traxxas.com/products/parts/escs/evx2 says it does not. I will ask Traxxas when I call them tonight about my receiver.

SPC Power - the best there is
I went out of my way to get one of the 5607's with LVC, but if I were looking again I wouldn't bother. The built in LVC triggers at about 40% battery, so you have to use an external anyway if you want to drain to a more normal 10%.
Mine stops running at 3.4v/cell on the BEC battery.
The other side is higher, for obvious reasons.
Whatever it is I just said... I could be wrong.
This is Traxxas. They are a family oriented, kid friendly company. They would rather play it safe than push the envelope on lower skill levels models. 3.4 volts is relatively safe. It would not look to good to have your 8 year old sons summit blow up in a lipo fire.

Man, Use Common Sense!!
8 year olds shouldn't be using 700$ cars with lipos
My summit is a 5607 and is new this year. Came with the new graphics on the shell etc but the manual still says no lipo protection but then people have been telling me it should have it. How do i know?
Cheers
Simon
If it says "low voltage detection" on the ESC, you have it.
The new graphics happened before the new ESC... just before.
The new TQi seems to be at the same time.
Whatever it is I just said... I could be wrong.
The manual still says it doesn't, but there was an extra piece of paper that explains how to use it, a sort of addendum to the manual.
Not all shipped with the "new" ESC got the addendum in the box.
Like ours which we got two weeks back had the "new" ESC, but no paper.
