    I've used the integy 3 shoe clutch for years. Both the older style that has the single spring similar to stock and the newer 3 spring one. Never had any problems.

    +1 on the integy 3 shoe set up. If you are talking about the spur Robinson Racing makes a good replacement slipper shoe kit.

    Assuming you are talking about the engine clutch and not the slipper clutch, I would say you are doing something wrong. I have never replaced clutch shoes in all of my years of RCs. I suggest you check your clutch bell bearings, bad CB bearings can cause all sorts of bad things to happen.

    as stated above you shouldnt be going thru clutches that fast, you have some other issue for sure.... id look into fixing that issue before dumping money into something new cause if its causing your clutch shoes to wear that fast youll tearup whatever you buy...
    Traxxas is good, but so are other Manus

    I have the 3 shoe and it works great! Just get one for the tmaxx and make sure you get the right flywheel for the set up (most will come with one) if it doesn't come with the three little springs you can use the stock spring. I've been using mine for a long time with Zero problems!
    +1 on changing the bearings in the CB, also make sure your flywheel is seated snug on the bevel cone with very little play. If the flywheel is loose it will tear everything up!

    I was always told the 3 shoe clutch is better

    I use the silver Evo 5: http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXANSK&P=V

    I had it on a traxxas motor and have now moved it to the Losi motor I just put in my T-maxx.

    I have the 3pc integgy setup. I guess it is the older one. It did not come with a spring. the LHS I purchased it at dug up a spring from the back but it is bigger than my stock spring and sits outside the groove a hair. (my old clutch spring is no good) I take it that could be my noise coming from the clutch bell.

    here is a video clip of the noise.

    To the OP;

    Clutch bell bearings! The bell should run free for a good bit before stopping when spun by hand, if you notice any roughness the bearings need replaced.

    AvidRC.com has a good selection & most are $1 each so stock up on commonly used up bearings.

    Most likely the reason you tore through the clutches like you did is the bearings needed changed out.

    The idle seems a little high causing the clutch to start to engage.

    Try fattening up the LSN a tad.
