Being the pioneering individuals you all are I thought I would ask here.
I'm tired of blowing out the holes on my RC trucks. However I believe the Emaxxs' body posts appear to be the easiest to work with.
I've seen posts of guys using shoe goo, and dry wall tape. I went as far as to use some tin cut into a strip then CA glued to the underside of the body. Which worked well until it tore. Then the damage was multiplied because the tin was cutting through everything.
Soooo why not fiber glass?
they make a woven mesh or just random spun fabric.
Would the resin react with the paints? Lexan?
Or even better..how about a plate that sits on top of the body posts but increases the overall contact patch?
A plate or fiber glass or some other material that would absorb the impact of the posts on the shell. A plate could be easily replaced..and hopefully save the shell.
Any ideas? I would like to start trying some different things because I'm tires of ruining shells this way.
