Sanity check before I blow something up!
I got my LiPo's and LVA in today!!
I'd post this in the Traxxas LiPo thread but they are not Traxxas brand (ssh, don't tell the moderators).
Before I blow these bad boys up I want to run this past you guys.
They are ******* ********** 5800mah 2S with 40C-80C discharge.
The did not come with any instructions and they do not list on the package if they are rated 1C or 2C.
My research tells me that I can safely charge these no higher than 5.8 amps, does that sound right?
I think to be conservative I'll charge them around 4 amps.
Does this sound about right?? Sanity check please!!

yes i am not a lipo expert but if you have a battery with 5800mah you charge it no more than 5.8amps and same for if you have a 4200mah battery no more than 4.2 amps
-
1C is the standard charging rate. So 5.8amps is correct.
-
Charging at less than 1c may extend service life. I have lots of time and charge at 0.75c, just does not hurt to be cautious.

i bit late here but yes. 1c so 5.8 is enough. Usually gets my packs done in about an hour.
this gives me enough time to repair all that I've broken since the last run. ha!
what did you set the LVC to? mine is pretty high at 3.7. Better safe than sorry?
-
I got a non adjustable LVA that is preset at 3.4 volts; I think. Don't quote me on that I'm nowhere near it.
