Hello everyone! Just wanted to say hello from Michigan. I am a new to the RC hobby, as a kid in middle school I used to get a classmates old Tower Hobbies catalogue and I always wondered what it would be like to have a real RC car. Well three weeks ago my friend calls me and says lets take the kids to the RC shop. I had no intentions of buying anything that day, I figured I would wait until my sons birthday in July. That plan went out the window, lol my friend was buying one for his son and I got my eight year old giving me the sad puppy dog eyes. At that moment I realized that I would make my son happy! Regardless of how bad business has been the last several years, and how bad the economy hurt me. He picked out his 2wd Brushed Slash his first real RC. Well at the shop they have an indoor track so we decide to rent the boys some trucks to try out, all of a sudden my daughter says she wants to try. I said ok, next thing you know my daughter gets the hang of it. I asked her would she like one also, she said yes. One more 2wd Brushed motor Slash.
That evening we take our kids to the high school parking lot, and ofcourse the dads were trying to take over the RC trucks, thus was saturday night. Tuesday night it hits me I have a GREAT opportunity for a family hobby. Towerhobbies.com it is, I find out they have a discount offer. Immediately I text my friend I put the order in for two 2wd Brushless Slash VXL's, and we have been having a blast since. For some reason we keep breaking rear bearing carriers.
I will be looking to the forum for guidance since I have no clue what I am doing in regards to maintaining these things!
