To use 1/8 scale tires and rims, you would also need some 17mm adapters. Some good all around 1/8 tires are the proline badlands, and some good 1/10 all around tires are the proline trenchers.

Yes they will work on a 2x4 slash. Most of the backslash builds use them.

Here is a front-on pic of my two Slashes, one with stock tires, the other with buggy Big Block tires. I use the STRC 17mm adapters and recommend them. On this one I'm geared 19/86.

Here is another pic of the truck.

Putting 1/8th scale wheels/tires on my slash is one of the best improvements I've made. Approximately 108% more fun.

Would that be more than twice as fun? Or only 8% more fun?

I run proline Ofna 1/8 street tires on my Slash and my son runs Ofna 1/8th slicks. I don't remember what adaptors we run other than you need to get ones designed for the 2wd.. We have regular tires for the off road stuff, but these tires on the street are the best combo we have found so far as for traction and long life. We both run Castle brushless systems and the stock tires don't last a pack or two on the road.

100% more fun if you run 1/8 wheels that are1/2 offset. It gives it much more stability
