    Newbie - axle question

Ok so I am looking to upgrade the rear axles on my son's 2wd stampede. I will probably get the MIP's soon but was wondering if the Slash 4x4 rear axles (6852X) would work for now. Any help is appreciated!!

Dude! I just installed the 4x4 axles yesterday and the u joint areas are beefy! 10 a pop tho, but worth it in my opinion. I'm sort of testing them out myself before going the MIP route. Initial impressions - so far, so good

Thanks bro. Yeah I bought 2 from the LHS yesterday but when I got home I realized they were front axles not rears. Gotta go swap em out tomorrow. Will try and get some run time on them and post back.

I totally recommend the 6852x's. Ive been running them for quite some time now and they have held up really well. Many of us have used them and they've done a good job. You may find that MIPs may not be needed.

With my Protrac kit I have thought about trying the Tekno's with the new extended bones they now have.

I've been running the 4x4 axles for awhile now and they work great.I have had them in there since last july. I haven't had to replace anything yet. They are a good way to go if you don't want to dump the money on cvds right now.

Yeah man. Please do. I'm running a real torquey combo so I need as much help with the axles as I can get.

IMO the 4X4 rear axles are BETTER than MIPs. The only MIPs that will live in high power brushless trucks are the X-Duties, at $75 a set they are REALLY expensive and they are also really heavy. I found mine caused a ton of vibration.

Ive been running slash 4X4 rear axles for a year now and haven't broken one. IMO, they are the best choice when you consider price VS durability. Gotta remember, ALL drive axles still have little pins to hold the joints together. Those little pins can and DO wear. Most CVDs also use tiny set screws to hold the pins in and the set screws can come loose/fall out and cause problems. No driveshaft solution is perfect, but so far the 4X4's have been the best answer I've found.
