a guy offered me a tmaxx he installed a 3.3 but left the 2.5r tranny in it. he offered 165 is it worth it? it sounds like a lot of stripped gears and torqued drive shafts if you ask me

The 2.5R transmission is the same as the 4909 model 3.3 transmission. The new 4908/7 transmissions are basically the same as the 2.5R transmission except they are forward only.
The 2.5 model Tmaxx had decent drive shafts but, can be upgraded easily if needed. As for price, you just have to determine if the truck is in good enough condition.
You may want to check and be sure it is a 2.5R model TMaxx, the tranmission will be grey in color. If its a black transmission it is a 2.5 model or earlier.

No slipper/tall gearing/power = broken parts.
ok he said the shift points need to be adjusted because it wont shift to 2nd gear
Most of the time when the trans. wont shift into 2nd it's because of the tune the engines not getting the RPM need to allow the trans. to shift.
I wanted to put a really cool signature but I ran
