They may be a little more than your budget, but the SPC lipos are worth every penny.

    This is a good start..
Just don't buy no name Ebay batts...

    MY BATTS:
    2S 9000 x 28C = 252,000 divide 1000 = 252 amps
    2S 8000 x 28C = 224,000 divide 1000 = 224 amps
    3S 5200 x 40C = 208,000 divide 1000 = 208 amps
    2S 4700 x 25C = 117,500 divide 1000 = 117.5 amps
^I run in my Summit.. ^ Requires proper gearing^

    ( mah x c rating / 1000 = amps)

    The
more amps the better / minimun of 120 amps.

The ESC will only draw the amount of amps it needs.

Higher the mAh the longer the runtime.
For brushless systems 8000 mAh about 45 min & a 5000 mAh about 30 min.
Times are longer for brushed systems.

Batts in series double the voltage:
    2x 2s 20c 5000mah = 4s 20c 5000mah

Batts in parallel double the mah capacity:
    2x 2s 20c 5000mah = 2s 20c 10,000mah.

A temp gun is kind of a must have.....

Hot motor + cool esc = under geared.
Cool motor + hot esc = over geared
    Everything warm just right..

Motor ~ 180/190*F (82/88*C) maximum, ideally 140/160*F (60/71*C), temps can be 10*F higher inside the motor
ESC ~ pretty much same temps / Fan comes on @ 150*F (65*C)
    Lipo's ~ 140*F (60*C) max, ideally 100/120*F (38/49*C).........

Besure to check sizing before you buy any batteries...

In time some batteries will become discontinued...

No particular order as to good, better, or best....

    2S

With larger Lipo battery wires, you might need to - enlarge the exit hole on battery doors....
or run wires out the vents..

Which Gens Ace 3s lipo are you running?

    I currently have 2) 3s ******** (4000mah 30c) but want something for speed runs.

I was looking at the GensAce 5300 60-120c 3s. Has anyone fit this one in the e-revo? http://www.hobbypartz.com/98p-60c-5000-3s1p-3333.html

The nanos are great but keep in mind the downsides - shipping, customer support ect. The 6000 soft packs fit snug, and have a matching 2s series for 5s.

Gens ace are great batts, but I dont know if they fit. Great packs for the price.

Spc is my choice if you can afford them.

Dont rule out the traxxas packs, they seem to be well built and if you factor in their warranty, they arnt actually a bad deal. Some slightly used Xo1 packs come around from time to time too...

The GensAce 5300 (http://www.hobbypartz.com/98p-60c-5300-3s1p-3333.html) doesn't look like it will fit to well. It's about .15" too wide (32.24mm). The plastic on the battery box can flex some... but it's going to be a very snug fit according to my caliper measurements

I looked into some of the **********'s and found one that is very close to the GensAce in specs and fits with no modification to the battery tray. It is the ******* ********** 5000mah 3S 65~130C Lipo Pack. The 65c-130c will be best for top-end power and max speed correct? Or will this 6s set-up be too much power to control? I was also looking at the 5000mah 3S 45c-90.

I looked into the SPC's and I found this one that would fit (SPC Li-Po Power, Lithium Polymer (LiPo), Soft Case Battery Pack; 5400mAh , 50C, 3S, 11.1V):
    http://www.spcracing.com/index.php?productID=131

I'm not sure if I need the 50c or 65c in order to hit speeds of 65+mph.

I just got these batts. I was running a 5s 25-50c setup before. So far these are pretty awesome. Unlimited power and craaazy speed. Tons of fun.
