    Switch for lights

Besides going threw all that is necessary to make a 10 channel radio as has been described on here twice, any one just install a on/off switch for the lights so they are not on all the time. Just wondering as have not even got my Summit yet and trying to figure out how to set it up so the lights will not be constantly on.
As much as I dislike Integy (even before joiningTraxxas community) Tower seems to have the only suitable switch I can find. http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...0&I=LXBMZL&P=K

Open to any suggestions or ideas, besides rebuilding the radio as that is beyond my electrical know how.

    Thanks.

Yeah a simple single pole single throw switch is all you need. Just wire it up between the positive lead!

    Here's a simple I made showing what I mean:

Even if you get a switch that has three leads, you still only wire it up like this. When the switch is on, current flows.. when it's switch off, it breaks the connection, no current flows - no light! =)

Krallopian; that is exactly how I planed on wiring it. Only problem am having is finding a switch small enough. Have a load of switches but all are for Boats or Trucks 12V system an are big. Oh and Radio Shake near me is worthless, hardly any inventory at all. Guess will wait till Mon. when Summit is delivered and see how much room is available and where to try and mount the switch.

Yeah in Canada they all turned to the SOURCE, and they are COMPLETELY useless for parts these days, it's such a shame. I know what you mean about having tons of switches - all of which are useless ahhaah! Good luck man!

It's a long shot, but do you have any of those halogen lamps? They always had the perfect power switch on them:

Krall; no halogen lamp to take apart, but did find a low Voltage push button switch (used on boat) that is water proof I was able to cut down some, and is water proof. Should fit somewhere nicely. LOL all this and Summit is not even here yet, just did not like the idea of the extra drain on the batteries with the lights on all the time.

But is it waterproof? Haha it's no drain at all though, compared to a servo twitching.. it's nothing!

I was just buggin ya, you said, "but did find a low Voltage push button switch (used on boat) that is water proof I was able to cut down some, and is water proof."

Anyway, Servo twitching is usually just a trim thing, play with the trims see what that does for you.
