Usually that's a battery problem. Sounds like either water got in the transmitter, or the antenna on the remote has been damaged. Especially with the 5-10 foot range. That's usually the range without an antenna hooked in to the transmitter.

Dam! Well i also had just changed thatradio into that truck right after I got back but I had it in before and I could go a lot farther. Would this give me other reasons why it's bad with range?

Well I usually just keep the entena inside the receiver box but even when it was inside I used to get lots of range

k so i looked at the reciever again and noticed that the piece of wire that comes out of the end of that little metal piece on the end of the entena is gone. is that the problem?

yes, that is a problem. Has the metal sleeve moved covering what was once the wire sticking out, or has the wire been ripped off.

I think it's been ripped off. But the whole time the entena has been inside the waterproof box and I didn't open it often. But ya I guess I need a receiver now
