    Diff oil

    Hi guys
Just wondering what are the benefits of going thicker oil? I'm gonna change the diff oil and was wondering what you recommend me 30k or 50k? Also if I remove the stock 10k diff oil can I put it back? Where I live don't have many RC shops just one and is very far away, and everything I need to buy it online and the shipping isn't very cheap here :S

A thicker diff lube will help eliminate one wheel turning when the other doesnt. a good example is when you turn and the inside tire goes nutz and spins like crazy when the outside tire doesnt. a thicker diff lube will help eliminate this. i am currently running 50k in mine and i like it. you can switch back whenever you want jus have to have to clean it all out and fill it back up with whatever weight you want

I just installed CVD's this weekend and went with 10k. I think 30k is default in other diff's. This looked a bit thinner than usual so I just went with what looked similar.

Increasing diff oil increses the "positraction" effect of the differential. It also decreases turn-in and can make the vehicle "push" in a turn due to the diffs resistance to freewheeling. If you want to 100% lock the diff so both tires get the same torque input I'd just jam the diff full of Silly Putty cause even the thickest oil spins out of the diff unless you get an O-ring sealed diff.
