    I wanna be you...

Have had a Summit for about 2 months now, love the thing but never go more offload than a grass field!

So. With that I have begun the process of transforming my green machine into a full fledged ERBE minus the diffs and any other tranny parts...

Been scowering eBay for the essentials; rockers, springs, body mounts, bumpers, body, etc. in the end I may switch to the mamba system but I sure do love the idea of not worrying about water.

Anyway, just want to start this thread off with my journey and will be posting pics as I go.

dude... all you really need to do is install a brushless system and change the wheels out. that summit already has all the parts that revo peeps go after anyway.

Once the majority of the parts come in I'll get some pics in, this is hardly a tutorial or anything rather a chance to share what I'm up to. And I would just drop a BL system in a switch the rubbers but that's a little to easy!

Just keep your summit shafts. Lots of us with Erbes use some of the summit parts as they appear stronger.

Definitely keeping the shafts. Just put together the suspension parts but when I opened my package I realized I had purchased a set of Traxxas red aluminum P3 push-rods by accident. So now I have a set of P2 and P3! Need to pay more attention with the buy it now button... Kept the stock push-rods on for now so if anyone needs a set of P3's let me know.

Also, removed the bumpers and lowered the body considerably. Not gonna lie, looks out of place bit sweet all at the same time, haha!

I think the lowered Summit looks awesome! It actually looks a bit meaner than when it's up high.

Ive lowered all my summit bodies. I think they look silly sitting up so high and look awesome down low.

heres a link to my thread about converting a summit into an E-Revo brushed... but brushed or brushless it would all be the same.

    http://traxxas.com/forums/showthread...uilt-to-E-Revo

I can say this for sure, if you want the summit look, you need to stick with 6 inch or larger tires. The summit body looks absolutely strange with tires that are 5 inches tall. Like 3.2 mashers or even the new badlands (just picked up a set). They look fine with the smaller E-Revo body, but with the summit body they look silly.

Agreed, keeping all the Summit parts for when it's time to take it up to the mountains! For now I'm just trying to win these tires and body mounts on eBay. Auctions end tonight so wish me luck!

Don't bid on talons, they are very poor tyres. You would be better off buying a set of prolines.

Well after much debate and some reflection on my childhood of my second and third traxxas being an E-Maxx and a T-Maxx I have gone with the chevron tires for my Geode wheels. I think it's a sick look and best all around low profile tire.

Should I tape these? Don't have the Mamba system yet...

Took the half built Summit/E Revo to a track today and that thing was bottoming out hard on every little jump... I know the body is a little heavy but with the extra ground clearence from the geodes is this normal for you E Revo'ers?

I have suspension set up as stock ERBE.

Gotta put the Summit shocks back on I guess..

Stock erbe springs are real soft. Chuck some lt springs on there. Not the rockers, just springs.

I run lt springs, p2s and 40wt oil. It's a good combo for me.

Agreed. It's a good setup. I actually run the double yellow / double orange (stock Summit springs) with P2 rockers and stock oil (40wt?).

The stock setup would be great if you were running on a flat dirt or grass field or maybe the beach, but it's not really suitable for jumps because the truck bottoms out so easily.

Copy that! Thanks for the help guys. First batch of new parts will be arriving tomorrow, so I'll try and get some pics up tomorrow night. Unfortunately out of town on business Thursday through Monday so the tire assembly will have to wait!

What 87 GN said, got em eBay for a good price and I can't wait to try them out. I always hate a first run on new tires!

And down the road I think lipos will have to be next. Right now I may try and gear for more speed. Anyone know what gearing would be optimal for speed for this set up?
