Those are SERIOUS tires. Hehe... I like that you used a 1700kv motor. Far more "crawler" than the 2250kv versions.

I love it. I still run nimh batteries an i get atleast 40min run times. An it has plenty of torque. No i didnt water proof it. I stay out of the water for the most part, water causes to many problems.

Ya i didnt really want the speed i just wanted all power an still have a long run times.

i just got my replacement motor from traxxas and i was thinking of trying the 700 h.o. kd motor and see how it wat but if it dosent last im probably gonna get the rx8 cause its sensored

well i done been there an done that with kershaws motors. My advice is if u have the money i would just go straight to the tekin rx8 setup, you will be much happier.

I run a Dewalt 14.4V drill motor in mine--MUCH stronger than the cheapo Titan 775, plus you can replace the brushes if things wear out.

Kershaw now sells prepped dewalts
As lots of people are running them.
Just a tougher motor not really faster per say ,but much more gearing options
And almost bombproof

Got my Dewalt 14.4v from Robot Marketplace--only $30! Kershaw has it for $34.99. I prep my own stuff. But the prep is certainly worth the $4 if you are so inclined.

I sometimes run the 14.4v Dewalt with 2 2s lipos on stock ESC. It really screams with this combo (even balloons the stock tires) --just monitor run times to avoid over discharging the batteries. The Summit is not supposed to be a speed demon, its a power mule, and the Dewalt is a beast.

Looks awesome bro...and those are real monster tyres. Really nice set up. I am in 2 minds about using brushed or brushless, I am building a summit from my Erevo spares. I waterproofed my esc on my Erevo with plasti dip no issues.
